Mostly FCAT, AP & EOC Exam prep going on at CSHS. Basically rote memorization with no critical thinking skills being taught. My child is in the quantum leap program but I seriously question whether she will be ready for college. Teacher quality is not great here. The Principal has no idea what is going on in the classrooms.
This is a great school, with a wonderful faculty. The teachers are excellent and there's hardly any conflicts and bullying amongst the students. My son attended this school and now my daughter is a junior there. Just a great school and system.
Coral Springs High has been an exceptionally great experience for my ESE son. He has been treated as a human being, not as an outcast as previously in Monarch High. The CBI is outstanding! The teachers are caring, concerned and eager to teach. Ms Yukin has been a blessing!
I love this teacher, staff and students at this school. It is an amazing school.
I am student at CSHS and I know from experience that the students are absolutely NOT the first priority. There are not enough textbooks for me to take home and my education is suffering from it. I have straight-As without even trying and I am in Honors classes. In middle school, I stayed up until 1 or 2 a.m. working on homework and studying and now I have no work at all. The teachers seem to really care; all but one of my teachers make a real effort to help me learn and succeed. One thing that worries me is that I finish work in the beginning of class and then spend the rest of my time grading papers for service hours instead of learning more. Guidance is very diligent in making meetings with anyone who requests them, but they were unwilling to listen to any of my concerns.
My son is attending CSHS and loves it! The school is safe, teachers and staff are caring and educated, and students who are looking to be successful can obtain the education they need to reach their goals! ***** 5 Stars *****
I attended this school for four years, and graduated in 2007. This school has been great to me. I was enrolled in many AP classes, had teachers that cared, and became a national merit scholar here, all while playing two sports. This school is great because it is a true representation of the south florida community - every different type of person, poor, rich, white, black, spanish, and any other group you could think of all mixed into one school. It is great preperation for the real world. The only thing I didn't like was that the sports teams were not the great but hey, nothing's perfect, right?
Beware! Dont let your child attend this school! Kids are rude and disrespectful, dangerous school! My child will not attend this school after the 2008 year
i have 2 very bright kids in this school and junior and senior years have been a real waste of their time and energy. yes, they're in AP classes, but many of their teachers have been unbelievably lazy; they've had a large volume of work but it's been rote work, with little critical thinking. my rare conversations with the administration have shown them to be closed-minded and smug - 'everything's great here, nothing needs to be changed or improved'. my kids have done fine, but no thanks to the school (thank goodness for AP prep books from amazon.com!).
My son is attending this school at this time and my daughter graduated last year. This is a great school with a wonderful principal. I wouldn't send my kids anywhere else but here for a great high school education.
