INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

This is the best elementary school in the area and one of the best in Broward county. My daughter has been going there since K, and I would not change a thing. I'm truly delighted.

We were annexed to Silver Ridge this year and it was the BEST thing that could have happened for our daughter. Although the school she came from was the same grade as Silver Ridge, there is no comparison between the extras the kids get at this school. Staff and teachers are awesome. Activities are incredible. Very happy with this school!!!

This is a warm, inviting, safe and great local school. The staff all truly care about their job and more importantly the children at the school. From the ladies in the front office, to teachers, up to the principal. The principal runs a fantastic school, is always visible and available. Parent involvement is highly encouraged and it shows. I feel so lucky that this is the school my children get to go to. A great school all around.

I'm new here, but I've heard very good comments about the school. I hope to be as good as they say

My children attended Silver Shores for several years. The experience was incredibly disappointing. Early in their school careers, both my children were identified by the school as high-achieving. Despite functioning 2 grade levels ahead of their peers (reading and math), minimal was done to accommodate their learning needs. Sadly, their academic potential was entirely wasted while attending Silver Ridge. During the time my children attended the school, we were extraordinarily active in the school community. It became evident that what was occurring with our children was not a single isolated incident. It was the standard ill-informed method of operation at the school. While the social environment at the school was fair (not great by any means), there were also repeated scenarios where the school was ignoring bullying and other negative forms of student behaviors. Our children have been privately schooled since leaving Silver Ridge....WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! The instruction they receive is meaningful, and they absolutely love learning! While we are happy for our children, it does sadden us that so many families are "stuck" with a substandard school like Silver Ridge.

Amazing School. My daughter has Special Needs and the staff and administration have gone so far above and beyond to take care of her and my family. PTA is constantly involved and hard working. Teachers have been inventive and caring. Even with the tough standards set by the FCAT, Silver Ridge Teachers go above and beyond.

Everyone from the principal to the lunch staff are absolutely amazing to work with. My daughters experience as a student is most memorable and us as parents assured that our child was given the skills to move on to her next chapter in life. Middle school. We are truly blessed to have our child in this school.

It is an excellent school because of the community atmosphere and the parent involvement. The teachers are great and they use all the latest technology and tools to help the students succeed.

Silver Ridge Elementary has the perfect combination of activities that make a well rounded student. The entire staff works hard to do what is best for the kids and the parents are very involved and dedicate a lot of their time to help in our childrens education....this combination makes a great school. 'It takes a village to raise a child,' that is the motto here!

The faculty all put so much effort into helping the kids learn and enjoy there days at school. The school has so many fun things that they do that help educate the children while they enjoy themselves and there are alot of parents that donate alot of there own time to help the teachers and students in making the school what it is.

As a teacher at a Weston school, I have chosen not to bring my children with me. They attend Silver Ridge and have been for the last six years. The staff is amazing and the principal is easy to approach. I have never had a bad experience and find the office staff friendly and helpful. Personal best and courtesy are staples of the curriculum where every child is valued for their ability. Awesome ESE staff!

Silver Ridge is truly a school where the students, teachers, and families all play an important role. Academic expectations are high and the students know what is expected of them. From kindergarten through fifth grade studetns are able to stretch their learning to their ability by participating in discussions and hands-on activities in addition to traditional reading and writing lessons. There are music, art, and P.E. specials, but there are few special programs for the regular student body. Aftercare students have some sports and dance programs available however. The level of parent involvement at Silver Ridge is very high. From volunteering at the classroom level to spending time on PTA parents are ready and willing to do whatever is asked. Silver Ridge is repeatedly awarded the Five Star award which includes not only parent volunteers but students volunteering in the community. I feel lucky to teach at Silver Ridge.

This school is truly innovative, diverse and a pioneer in education. The teachers are all very involved and communicative with the parents. It is prepared to and handles children with special education needs as well as handicapped kids. My son started Pre-K as part of a special program through FDLRS for speech delayed and has made leaps and bounds. I am convinced that Silver Ridge is the reason. The classes are not over-crowded and the teachers are wonderful. It is my belief that Silver Ridge Elementary is providing the level of education one has to pay to get for free.

Both of my children attended Silver Ridge throughout elementary school. It was a place where they were shown respect and caring by teachers, administrators and other students. They gave my children a wonderful education not only in the required subjects, but also life skills they use on a daily basis.

This school, in my opinion is one of the best public elementary schools in Broward County. It is a Science Idea school which means the reading and math programs are taught through science. They have 8 specials including Spanish, PE,Creative Thinking ETC. They go on a lot of educational field trips also.

This school has a very good gifted program. It could be improved if the class size was not an issue. To meet the size, children that are not gifted are included. This slows the gifted students and sometimes causes a behavior problem. I am all for high achievers being included in the gifted class, but I know of some parents who just have pull and include their child even if the criteria is not met.

Silver Ridge, for years has had an immaculate reputation. That is why I chose the school, through numerous referrals and parents who had experience with the school. This year, however I am deeply saddened that the punishments do not fit the crimes when it has come to incidences regarding abuse by substitute teachers, and behavioral issues of certain students. If this were a private school these incidences would have been solved, not swept under the rug. I feel their problems have only just begun. The front office staff (Mrs. Siskey) and the teachers are amazing! The administration is supposed to be the foundation, without it - everything crumbles. They need to get it together and exercise punishments that fit certain crimes or life at SRE will become out of control and unruly!

The teachers are highly skilled and work hard to bring out the best in each child. The principal is kind and knows each child by name. She is a great example of a leader and I will miss seeing her everyday as my daughter graduates this year. Thank you for bringing out the best in my children and giving them the encouragement and confidence they need to go out into the world! '

I have three children in Silver Ridge. One has been there since 1st Grade. I have nothing but great things to say about this school. The teachers are there because they want to be and it shows. The principle must be wonderful to work for because the atmosphere of the school is one of cooperation and support. The office staff is polite, the parents are involved, and the kids all seem to be glad to be there. I now have two more in kindergarten and they begin their journey of education at Silver Ridge. I enjoy knowing I can speak with the teacher or principle at any time and we can work together to help my children learn and excel. It is a great partnership in the education of my children. This year however it is back to being over crowded, and that is hard for everyone.

My daughter was attending private school after a bad experience in public school. Upon moving to Davie, my husband and I researched Silver Ridge as an option, and found a fantastic school for our daughter. The leadership and spirit is fantastic, as is the parental support at the school.
