My daugter started her Kindergarden here...it went great until she started first grade. I was always getting notes from her 1st grade teacher that she wasn't concentrating...and wasnt focusing. That she wouldn't sit still...she pretty much had me convinced that my daughter might be ADHD...I went as far as getting her diagnosed by her docter. But, Docters dont diagnose ADHD they simply give you and the childs teacher a survey with a bunch of questions about your child. So had her teacher fill the survey for me and I did as well. I was very concerned about my daughter b/c she was failing 1st grade....and I did not want my daughter on meds. Her docter simply told me that if he goes by my survey...than my daughter is just a normal 5 year old...and on the other hand if he goes by her teachers survey than she is ADHD. So I decided to spend money on hiring her a Tutor to see her twice a week. Her tutor told me how bright my daughter was...and that she doesn't think my daughter is ADHD...in the mean time I was still getting notes from her teacher that she's having difficulty concentrating and that she is very hyper. For 2nd grade I put her in a new School and she's getting striaght A'S....

We moved from another state to Florida in November 2009. The year that my son was there he always came home with stories about how mean the kids were. One time a 7 year old boy stabbed a 7 year old girl with a pencil. I never got a note from the school explaining the incident. It came to the point my son did not want to go to school, so we moved out of that district. I think the school should be more involved and should do something more drastic about the bullying that goes on at this school.

My Daughter was in Kindergarten this year. She went from knowing about 15 easy sight words to reading at the end of FIRST GRADE Level this school year. Homework was done each day, and many books were read this school year. The more you put into your own child's education (ie: time, making their education a priority) , the more your child will learn each year. I am very pleased with this school and am thrilled with how much my child has grown this Kindergarten year!

Well were finished. We cannot recommend a better school than deerfield beach elementary. The teachers and staff are really trying to take the school to the next level even though in some cases the state and policy tie their hands. Many thanks to all!! a special thanks to john hodge! john grassi

I know that last year was tough. I think this school is ready for change. Mr. Breslaw & Ms. Huckshold are ready for the challenge. I feel like they are going to bring about some wonderful changes to the school. I am looking forward to working with them and supporting them in every thing they do. My hope is that all parents and staff will support them 100% also.

My kindergarten age son loves school. My youngest son asks every morning when he will be old enough to go to the good school. Our family loves DBES. We feel it is an honor to have our son in a school where he is loved on a daily basis. His reading skills are out of this world thanks to a great education. all children should be so lucky to have such a great school.

After taking my son out of one school in the Deerfield area I wasn't sure where to place him. This is now his second year at Deerfield Beach and we could not be happier. His teacher from last year is the most amazing woman. She helped us to see how great the school is. I helped in her classroom with reading and anything else that she needed. My sons grades have greatly improved and so has his attitude. I only wish my older child had the chance to go here. Thank you Deerfield Beach Elemetary for giving my family a chance to attend your school. Could not have found a better one.
