Stranahan is filled with teachers who don't care and who dont want to help. The school is dirty and the students are ghetto and uncivilized. Not to mention, the rude staff. The only good thing i have to say about Stranahan is that it has an pretty good magnet program.
I am graduating from Stranahan this year (2010) and I am truely proud of the magnet programs, clubs, and activities that the school provides. For instance Stranahan provides its Summer Science Heat Program for incomming freshman which is lead by Ms. Shim-Normile, which i attended the summer of my sophmore year, and it was truely exciting.
I received a top-notch honors educations at Stranahan as a Medical Magnet Student, and would have received a good education even if I hadn't been part of the magnet program. The school is one of Broward County's best-kept secrets, a 'ghetto school' with a very low rate of violent incidents; I was safer here than in the suburban middle school in my district, which I attended before going to Stranahan. With the retrospective which (hopefully!) comes with age, I only wish I took better advantage of the opportunities offered me at Stranahan. It deserves more recognition for all it offers.
Stranahan has an excellent magnet program. I am proud to be a student there.
i am currently a student at stranahan high school. our school is rated one of the best high schools in the nation. As with other high schools we have our problem but for the most part it is a good academic school. our clubs and sports teams are diverse and family oriented.
I attend stranahan high school currently. I am graduating this year. Stranahan has great teachers and horrible teachers. There are a lot of after school programs to be active in. The main problem is the local kids who make the school look bad. But the magnet kids and most of the local are hard working.
The engineering program of this school is great my son is in this program and both of us agree that this has been one of the best decision that could have been made. The school is big so their is no signs of overcrowding at all. It also one of the top wrestling teams in the district he has joined the team and is doing great. For all parents trying to find the right magnet program for your kids choose this school for Medical or Engineering you wont be disappointed. -Proud Parent, Felix E.
The Engineering Magnet program is the best! My son has really found himself at this school and has gotten involved with the Robotics Club as well as signing up for AP Calculus and AP Physics. I wish they had more help in the college counseling office however, as the lady there is always busy and it is hard to find out about scholarships, etc. Good school, very nice people to work with and the teachers do seem to really care about the students.
My daughter is a sophomore this year with a 4.6 grade average. She is very involved with marching band ,my only complaint is that it would be nice to see more recognition of the band. Also, it would be nice if the messages you left for teachers were actually returned. And the principal got out and mingled with the students. show some leadership and show these kids that she cares.
Great School, Nice People
