Way overrated! Coming from palm beach county schools, major downgrade! No art, PE, and no help from teachers with providing or giving advice for children with learning disabilities. The school seems more concerned with fundraising then helping students. Aftercare is low quality as well. No organization, no structure, no Planned activities, intermingling of age groups exposes bad influences on younger ones.
I really enjoy my daughter attending this school. I believe she is happy at the school and I know it is an a plus school. I hope her studies continue and she gets to be one of the smartest kids in her class. I believe this school is a really nice place also because it is in a nice neighborhood. I hope she continues to attend here and I as her mom will help her with any thing she may need.
i love harbordale it is the best they have the best teachers ever if you want ur kid at a good scool put them here
Great school. Small atmosphere, dedicated parents. Teachers are exceptional and approachable. When construction is completed the campus will be much more appealing. The diverse nature of the school prepares children for middle school and beyond.
my child attends harbordale and I have no complaints...I love it!
This is my second year at Harbordale and it is an awesome school. I believe you get out what you put in and I am very involved in H.S.A. and volunteering at the school and for school fundraisers. This year we have a great deal of excitement about our new buildings and our upcoming construciton of the new 2 story building. This school will continue to get better but what is really needed is parent participation. These are our children and they need our support in education no matter what the support is. If they see us getting involved at school it only makes them want to do better at school. As a single working mother my spare time is spent on volunteering for my children's schools. This also helps me get to know the teachers and staff and other parents. The more involved parents are the better their children do.
This school has such a sought-after'A' rated reputation, but coming from an A-rated (five star)elementary school in Jupiter,I am not that impressed. There is no P.E.,seemingly no art courses, visiting open house last year the teacher promised each child would learn to play the piano, but it never happened, not even a keystroke, and this year I learned the pianos are not working, nor are the ratty old violins they were supposed to use.The reconstruction of this school began long prior to the summer break,a disruption for the students, with asbestos removal occurring onsite, and a shrinking sandy playground,no sports field, and a horrific aftercare. My son,a fifth grader, had more challenging spell tests in the second grade in a Boca school. The Gifted program is a joke.
Small public school with many dedicated teachers. Medium level of parent involvement.
I have two children in Harbordale and have been very pleased with their academic performance. The school is a small gem of a community school, with only 500 students. Children get individual attention from caring teachers with years of experience. Although the building itself needs to be renovated, the school provides a wonderful learning enviorment. It does not have a fully integrated gifted program, although each level has a gifted teacher.
This is a very nice small school, that will be undergoing construction improvements soon. Good uniform policy.
