When looking for a preschool for our 2 yr old, I had extremely high standards and put in hours of research. My choices came down to WA and another private elementary school close by. When I called both schools, the reception I received from the staff at WA was very welcoming and impressive. We did the tour of the school and were further impressed by not only the facilities and activities, but the genuine love and sense of family shared by staff and students. So far, we are very happy with our choice and expect to continue to be so. The school culture encourages a love for Christ ( which I was looking for) but is strong on academics (which my husband was looking for), so I recommend WA wholeheartedly to anyone seeking the perfect blend of experiences for their child and an environment where they can thrive and grow.
We moved to south Florida four years ago from northern Virginia, where our children attended a premier college prep non-denominational Christian school. For the first three years in Florida, our kids went to a Christian school northwest of Ft Lauderdale, where our daughter graduated in 2010. We were very disappointed in the academics and spiritual life there. This year our son attended Westminster for his first year of high school. What a difference! Westminster's academics are top-rate, the student body is involved and welcoming, the teachers are spirit-filled and encouraging, and the administration is helpful beyond belief. It is well worth the 30 minute drive each morning and afternoon to have our son be immersed in such an environment where God comes first in everything.
As a parent who desires only the best for his children (just like all of us), I'm very proud that such a fine school exists. The difference between westminster and other fine private schools in our area is that education at westminster goes beyond excellence in academics. With children spending so much time in school and with their peers, the school's influence ultimately enters the home. For this reason, westminster stands far above the rest. Academic Excellence....the teaching of values and morals....sports....and an overall beautiful environment is why we chose westminster for our children.....and morals and values are the difference between someone like Bernie Madoff vs Bill Gates. Both very bright individuals who achieved 'worldly success.' But one of these men destroyed lives as the other pursues to give and assist those in need. Morals, values and Academic excellence.
We left a highly coveted private school, in another city, because we not only wanted strong academics for our children, which Westminster Academy offers, but also a Christ centered education which would instill in them a love for God and a Christian world view.Westminster Academy offers both; strong academics and Christ centeredness. This is our fist year there and we are very pleased. Through their classical Christian approach to education, their amazing athletics and sports programs, their fine arts and church involvement and their God loving staff and and faculty, we are pleased to know that our children are receiving an exemplary education which also honors God. Just going through my daughter s required reading list brings joy to my heart. She is actually reading great classics. Westminster Academy is a blessing to us. Devoted to Christ and dedicated to excellence.
Westminster Academy is one of the best schools that I have been blessed to be a part of. My son attends the Pk2 class and we couldn't be happier. All the teachers and staff are highly educated and truly care about each and every child and how they are progressing on a daily basis. The school and teachers have very high standards for themselves and their students. The academics are outstanding and the extracurricular activities are beyond belief. Every type of child can excel at this school. We are blessed to have our child attend.
Excellent Teachers, caring supportive and very involved! The teachers teach the whole child. The school also has great parent volunteers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My son was in the ACE program last year, and we are very grateful that the school provided it. He was well loved and instructed by his teacher and his IOWA test scores dramatically improved from the year before when he was in a different school. For the first time in his life he enjoyed school (well, since Kindergarten, anyway)!
I have been attending WA for 9 years now, I am an upcoming senior. I just think that Westminster needs a lot more diversity in the school, we need to mix the cultures. Other than that WA is a great school, excellent in academic and all they do. Their priority is to make God first, and it is. WA has strengthened my faith. I would recommend this school.
What an amazing school Westminster is! They partner with the parent in nurturing and educating children. WA students earn an amazing amount of scholarship money. The students are also challenged academically. My family moved over 1000 miles, just so our children could attend WA.
This is a wonderful school rich in history and dedication to being on the forefront of academics through programs such as classical studies. The faculty and staff are genuinely engaged in helping the children develop not just academically but spiritually as well. The structured classroom environment is the best we've seen. There are some schools that have strong academics or strong religious education--Westminster Academy offers the best of both. It's truly a blessing to our family.
