I debated between choosing Lexington Middle and Cypress Middle for my son. It was a tough choice because Lexington Middle is a newer school which appears to have a modern, classy school appearance. The principle at Cypress Middle, however impressed me with the way she just connects with the educational needs of a middle school child. It seemed to remind me of old school thought " discipline, respect, fun, and school work are top values". I have to say that the education at Cypress is phenomenal and totally reflects these values. My child loves this school so much that he does not want to miss a day of school.
Cypress Lake Middle School is one of the very best schools that my children have ever attended. They have been in school out of state and in a local private school. This school however has far outweighted the rest in staff, students, talend, and education. I think CLMS is absolutely amazing in everyway!!! :)
Discipline policy needs review. Too much slides by, whike a shirt tail out rates a "grounding" for the entire semester.
I'm not sure if i agree with the statement about the math department, i am currently a student and they excel in teaching and participation in the class. All of the other departments are great to, the only thing that might not be so excellent is the dance department, they do not really give anything to the students who are not in the highest level.
The teachers are friendly, professional and communicate well. The administration creates a family atmosphere conducive to achieving the full potential of our star student.
Gr8 school but I think they should let up on the kids just a bit. My son comes home stressed.
Cypress Lake Middle is the best school. I absolutly love being in all of the arts and academic programs. If you are a panther, you are taught to be a team player and have fun with your friends. I love CLMS so much and I would have never gone to a different school if i had the option.
I love this school my parents went here and my sister so its kind of cool and im a dancer and its great to dance all day and in school it kind of fills in for recess in elementry school but its middel school so i love this school its a great school
I love cypress lake middle school its so interactive with all the sports, dances, clubs, and fundraisers. You'll never be board here the scheduaks are so jamed backed and fun. If you don't go to cypress you're missing out on al of the FUN!!
My son is a 6th grader at Cypress this year. He has severe ADHD, OCD, and Tourettes Syndrome. He also has pretty serious nosebleeds at times. I wrote a letter to the principal and each teacher at the orientation to make them aware of his situation - unlike his elementary school every teacher acknowledged the letter and have been extremely understanding - some have even reported new 'tics' associated with his Tourette's. He is in advanced classes as well as band and has just started Steel drums and has been on the A-B honor roll so far this year. He wanted Cypress at sign-up and luckily an opening came up before school started - we couldn't be happier with it!
I have a 6th grader at Cypress Lake Middle School, she is excited to go to school each and every day. Her teachers are great, she loves the Arts School here, already had Band now she will be in Dance! Keep up the Awesome Work Cypress!
Cypress Lake Middle School is an excellent school. If you are aspiring to be in the arts, this is a great beginning. I started at Cypress last year as a fresh little sixth grader. Cypress has wonderful teachers,a fun principal, and great values. Turning down a school like this would be a big mistake.
My daugther has done well at Cypress for the most part. The problems we have had are: They are extremely rude and have no business being 'in charge' of children.
My daughter is in 7th grade at Cypress Lake Middle School. The school has met our expectations. We are impressed with the academics -- the school is able to accomodate high performers and gifted students, even though it is not an official Gifted Center. The best thing about it is that is a well-rounded school. The arts are very important (it is an Arts Magnet School), which diminishes the importance of 'jocks' and cheerleaders in the social pecking order. My shy child went from a small private school to (huge) CLMS in 6th grade, knowing no one. She has blossomed in all ways, gaining confidence and a sense of who she is. The wide range of arts and extracurricular activities has enabled her to find her place and thrive. The teachers, students and administrative staff all seem to have an 'energy' that you just don't find at other schools.
The academic programs were very good. My son really enjoyed all of the music and sports activities. They encourage parents to become involeved in the school. I was a volunteer in their reading program and found it to be very rewarding. I would highly reccommend this school if your child enjoys the arts.
Cypress Lake has a very pleasant campus, with open hallways and landscaped areas. Whenever I called or visited the school, the staff was receptive and helpful. I never felt that my son was lost among many students.
CLMS is an awesome middle school! The teachers are wonderful, they are always available to answer questions. My son has grown artistically since attending Cypress Lake Middle School. He has a newfound passion for art while still being challenged and engaged in his academic studies. I would highly recommend Cypress Lake Middle School!
My child is so thrilled with her school that she literally sings while getting ready for each new day there! The academics are strong, teachers are dedicated, the student mentor system eases the transition to middle school. Bravo, CLMS!
My child's experience at Cypress has been wonderful. He has developed musically over the past three years under Mr. Flory's direction and dedication as well as the the schools focus, support and involvment with the Arts program. Middle school can be a challenging experience for many students and parents, but Ms. Folares' positive attitude, openess and involvement as well as the enthusiam of the staff has made this a great experience we will treasure. We will miss you all after this year!
