My daughter has been going here since K and is in the 2nd grade this year. My youngest daughter starts K this year. I have had a wonderful experience with this school which is why it is so hard to get into this school. The teachers that we have had really are excellent. The kids have homework every night even in K. I like that you can reach the principal, Dr. Parks, very easily. She doesn't hide from the parents. She is very friendly and outgoing. And she returns phone calls! The kids really seem to like her. This past year there was a new Asst. Principal and he is as friendly as Dr. Parks. The teachers are very receptive to parent's concerns if you had any. I took a big involvement in my daughter's learning so I stayed on top of it and in constant communication. Realistically, the teachers can only do so much. Some kids just need extra help. My daughter needed a bit of extra help. We worked with her constantly and she was able to move on to 2nd grade. They will hold your child back if they are not ready. There are tests through out the entire year that gauge where your child is at learning wise. It is a hard school. Not easy, but I am very pleased!

Three Oaks Elementary is the finest elementary you'll find in Lee County. I have had children there for the last four years. The environment is academically stimulating, with many special days to bring history, science and world cultures to life. In second grade, there is a mock Civil War battle complete with cannon fire. The teachers are excellent. The principal in very approachable and involved. Top rate school!

Three Oaks Elementary is a wonderful, safe, loving school! We switched from a charter school (what a disaster) when my oldest was in the middle of 2nd grade. She is now finishing up 5th grade and I have another child in 1st. The entire staff has gone above and beyond from the day we toured the school years ago, and they continue to make a great impression on a daily basis. The principal and vice principal are very hands-on and have been extremely accessible and helpful throughout our time at the school. The only time we ever had a problem (with another student, not the school), the principal AND vice principal called me that day, listened to my concerns, and offered thoughtful solutions to the problem. The teachers we've dealt with have all been excellent, and my children have done very well at this school. My oldest is sad to have to leave in the fall for middle school, but we couldn't have asked for a better elementary school!

This has to be the worst elementary school I have ever seen. I couldn't get my daughter out of there fast enough. The principal does not return calls from concerned parents until you call the superintendent. I highly recommend Pinewoods.

This school is top-notch. The administration is excellent, the core knowledge cirriculum unique and interesting for students. The emphasis on reading and writing enables these students to read well above grade level and ENJOY it! Highly recommended (if you can get in)

I worked as a volunteer at Three Oaks this past year and the teachers and support staff teach their students to learn in a friendly environment. When a child needs to be disciplined it is done in a positive manner and getting the point across. They practice the character traits that they learn each month. I believe this to be a great school.

Three Oaks is a wonderful school. The teachers are exceptional and the parent invovement is great. The afterschool program is the best around. The school even offers a summer rec program that is very active and well planned out. I have researched a lot of the areas schools and I think Three oaks is the best.

I have 2 students at Three Oaks. The school has a unique curriculum called Core Knowledge that really challenges and keeps the interest of the students. They have several special programs for students, including news crew, choir, patrols, junior ambassadors, track and more. The Parent teacher association is very well attended and very active. I highly recommend Three Oaks Elementary. They have a wonderful staff of teachers and assistants that are very professional and loving!

It is a tightly run school. Expectations are high and the teacher was very supportive. The administration is willing to listen to your concerns.

This is a great elementary school in a very nice area. The teachers really care about the learning of their students and the parents are very involved. The playground is very small, so for Kindergarteners and 1st graders you could see that as a downfall. But the teachers and staff are very good and if you are pro-uniform this school is great.

I have had children in this school for 8 years now and I still think it is the best there is. I have seen many teachers come and go as well as principles and vice priciples. They are always striving to make the best for the kids. The staff is great, even the ganitors and cafeteria staff take the time to get to know the kids and parents. Acedemically it can't be beat. They stick with the kids til they get it. I have 2 children that have gone to other elem. schools and was not half as pleased with them.

Very visible, accessible and responsive administration. Caring staff and high percentage of parent involvement. Discipline is good. Children are exposed to wide knowledge base through core knowledge, but emphasis remains on the basics.

About the tests

Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
