THIS SCHOOL IS PURE GARBAGE.... they only have three security guards available. majority of the facilty looks either scared or don't care. i hear about at least three fights a day. its kinda like a prison that the inmates took over. OHH, don't expect much help from the office. they really need to shut that school down or put under new administrative management.

the cafetaria food is fattening and is mostly isn't fresh when it comes to fruits and vegetables. most of the teachers are fine and a few pass to amazing. this year in 2011-2012, the new principal is making the school look better this year but it cuts on the school supplys. there are a lot of unfairness when it comes to teacher and students. this year there are completely no lockers for any of the grades, they are replaced with benches. school uniform is a hassil for poor families. there are students who are outragously horrible and racist.

I attended this school in the late 1990's. It was horrendous back then. The student body was atrocious and drugged out half the time. The teachers and administrators were substandard. I've heard from current students that go there that things have not improved much in the last 12 years. If it's anything like it was when I was a student, then keep your children far away from this school.

This is the worst middle school I have ever seen.......they really don't want to be bothered with the parents......If your thinking of bringing your kids here please don't......It reminds me of eastside High....In the movie "Lean On Me"....the kids walk the halls all day and never wear the correct uniform:(......Always fights.......the staff couple care less!

Sorry can't even give this school the lowest rating try a minus 10 for this school -10 southside middle school has nothing but hoodlums and thugs running the hallways beating up on kids, stealing from kids, threatening kids and intimadating kids.. The students there spend more time in the administrative offices than they do in acutal class. The parents spend more time on the phone than they do at their job. If you go for a conference you have to sit, and sit, and sit and wait and wait and wait. I would not wish this school on any student. There are a lot better schools out there where your child can actually excel instead of having their things destroyed and their body physically attacked. I can honestly say that my family lost about a $1,000 worth of books, backpacks, pencils, glasses etc in just ONE YEAR at southside middle school. If you care about your child and their education don't send them here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

to start thing off i'm sick of parents writing suck bad reports about this school!!! the teachers try there best to teach us but some students just don't understand how important school is yet and it's not the teachers fault for this it's the parent!!!! i don't get bullied or anything but i can say these students are a bit to rash... once we had a sub and one of the student broke a window and caught the microwave on fire!!!!!>< but anyway the teachers try there best all you have to do is listen!!!!><

My child atteneded Southside and I will forever regret it!!!! Now that he is in high school he is failing. Why?? Southside does nothing to instill any kind of study habits in the kids. Why?? Because they don't have homework because they have to keep the books at school. I can count on both hands the number of nights in 3 years that my son had homework!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!!!! The teachers spend more time reporting kids for the stupidest things instead of dealing with them and moving on to teach class. The spanish teacher spent more time showing movies or throwing chairs in class than actually teaching class!! An absolute F school in my opinion.

I attended Southside Middle School for 6-8th Grade. Most Teachers are Great there are the handfull that act like the kids. The Administration at this school are Great they put a stop to things. Always willing to help! The only bad thing was in 8th Grade they say that they were preparing you for High school but the truth was that now im failing classes because the teachers that i had were treating you like 4th graders (Letting us keep our books in class ect. ). Otherwise GREAT School!!!!
