Please take not that all but one of these reviews are from years ago. My child went to this school last school year, 2012-2013, and was in the ESE PI class with Mrs. Jones and I heard on many occasions that she just had two years left and was on her way out. I suppose her diligence and care for the children went out the door somewhere between her last great review and last year as maybe she is tired. All I saw her do was sit down, eat, and yell at the children, who were mostly non verbal disbaled kids. This school hit the news several times last year for staff abusing the kids and the school is a D rated school. Parents do your homework and ask other parents.

I have to say that I'm not happy with this school this year, my daughter who is in the first grade has not have one spelling test yet, her teacher still haven't send us any class work for us to view at home for us to see any improvement, when I asked her teacher how she is doing in class she tells me that she needs to look at her notes which I find it disturbed because her teacher should be able to know a little something about all her students that she spend time with every day

My son has been attending Love Grove since Kindergarten and he's now completing the 4th grade. The teachers that my son has had have been great. They have encouraged him to do better each and every day. There are some teachers that I have to say stand out in my mind. And those are; Mrs. Chancey, Ms. Hamilton, Ms. Swope & Ms. Elias. They have kept my son on his toes and I appreciate them so much!! Not saying that his other teachers have encouraged him through the years. They all see the potential my son has and really makes sure that he works to that potential. He will be going to the 5th grade next year and that will be his last year there. I am going to definately miss all the teachers there that helped my son with his education once he finishes his 5th grade year there.

Our experiences with the Duval school system include Love Grove, another Duval public school and a local private school. Each school has its benefits, but Love Grove has always been our favored choice. It has the small town caring attitude and the technical advantages of the big city. We think that Love Grove is a great elementary school, and my wife and I give our full support to the staff and school.

Love Grove Elementary is a wonderful school with extremely knowledgeable and caring teachers.

My son attends 3rd grade at Love Grove and over the past week he has not seen the outside world. He has had 5-7 hours of homework each night. (The school hours aren't that long) His 'planner' that the teachers initial, only shows 1 thing for each day. Are they cramming for year-end? Are the teachers using class time appropriately or making the parents do all the teaching at home? I wish I had a camera in there. He will probably be in private school for 4th grade. You get what you pay for and I'm sure I'll get better responses from the teachers.

Have had (2) children attend, with # 3 starting 07. Have had only positive experiences all around. The principle is wonderful. I think she knows every child by name, is very inviting, but also very authoritive. We have had the same experience with the teachers, very nice. Clean, sweet looking school.

Love Grove is a wonderful school. Everyone from the principal down to the cafteria staff show how much they care about the school and it's students. I am very impressed by the teaching staff. They go out of their way to help each and every student. My son went to kindergarten at Love Grove last year and I was so impressed with his teacher. She kept up to date on the latest teaching methods through attending training courses. My son now has a very firm foundation in learning and I can't thank the staff at Love Grove enough. I look forward to the next few years with this school.

About the tests

Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
