Lake Park Elementary has been very dedicated to my sons education since kindergarden. He loves all his teachers which started with Mr. McClung, Mrs. Stiles, Mrs. Oconner, He as a young man speaks so proudly of Mrs. Wear. And applause and shout outs to Dr. Lewis and God bless Mrs. Mason. Next year he will be in 5th, last yr. for Lonnell to be part of Lake Park Elementary, I wish he could take all his teachers with him, to the next chapter in his life. Thank you all very much. Wow, please not let me forget to mention the wonderful aftercare he attends and likes very much. Thank you Mrs Patrick. Mr. & Mrs Nottage

The town of Lake Park is very active in renewing, refurbishing and keeping the town up to date. The commission here is constantly on the ball and the school is all about a good public education.

It's special because of the variety of children who attend. Ethic diversity is the US's primary value for reducing prejudice and violence.

This, is a great school, my daughter is in 1st grade and she as been at this school since K5. She loves it, and I love it also, she has two great teachers and the staff are wonderful. It makes a difference when your child wants more, and the school offers the opporunity for the students to grow academically.

My son had so many problems in kindergarden at his last school, ranging from his teacher always yelling to not being able to make friends. Now that he is at this school he had the bst 1st grade year ever, the most wonderful teacher- and has tons of new friends. I wouldn't trade this school for anything! Its really the best.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Florida used the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT 2.0) to test students in grades 3 through 10 in reading, 3 through 8 in math, in grades 5 and 8 in science and writing in grades 4, 8 and 10. The FCAT 2.0 is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Florida. The goal is for all students to score at or above level 3.

Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
