We have just completed our first year at North Grade Elementary. My daughter will be in first grade next year. Everyone is welcoming. The leadership of the school is fantastic. I find the environment of the school to be supportive and welcoming. Parent involvement could be better but what the school has is wonderful. My daughter cried on the last day of school because she can't wait to go back!
their children's education. The teachers are always welcoming and supportive. This is an amazing school, and as a former teacher, i am pretty picky!
My daughter is in Kindergarten at North Grade and part of the Dual Language program. The teachers are extremely friendly and highly dedicated professionals. Likewise, the Principal takes the time to get to know you on a more personal level. I highly recommend the school for dual language and regular classes alike due to the outward devotion to education shown at the school, in the classroom and at all school functions. The staff and student body are both very diverse. It's a wonderful, welcoming place that feels more like you're part of a family than just a school system.
they have great teachers especially Ms.Moore
My daughters have been at North Grade for 4 years now. The choice programs offered there are excellent and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. The teachers, staff and pricipal genuinely care about the children and seem very happy to be there. We feel very fortunate to be a part of the North Grade family. The Trevino Family
Great and motivated staff and a very active and supportive principal (Mrs. Battles). Three choices of education: Regular, Dual Language and Gifted Program. A 'Five Star School' with 75 % of students receiving reduced or free lunch, with two 'A's and 1 B' in the last 3 years. I think all these facts makes North Grade A GREAT SCHOOL!. Tha Marin's Family.
We love the school. We're very happy with the principal (she rocks!) and our children's teachers as well. I find there are a lot of parents who give a tremendous amount of time to the school, we are very lucky to have them. To the parents who complain about the dual language program, it's easier for children to learn a secong language now then in middle and high school (that's when I took it). Did I learn anything? No, but my children are. You must be patient with the program. It takes a couple of years. Believe me, I thought about pulling my children out of the program. While we were in California this summer, my 3rd grader amazed me with reading so wonderfully in spanish. My last child will now be attending Northgrade and the dual laguage program. We're very excited about the new school year!
My kids have attended North Grade for 4 years and I have had the pleasure of working and participating with the best teachers and personell every, they care and want the kids to progress in all abilitys. Thank you North Grade. We have the best principal every Ms. D Battles Thank you for being you. From the Nutty Nault's. *****
Any criticism of the principal before August 2006 should be taken with a grain of salt. On that day North Grade has had a new principal. Our new principal, Debbie Battles, has created an incredibly open and friendly work environment for teachers and learning environment for students. As a parent, I always feel welcome in the school as a visitor, parent advocate for my children, and volunteer. The Dual Language program is phenomenal.
