First year at Manatee and both my son and I LOVE it! His first grade teacher - Mrs. Bauer - was instrumental in catching him up (poor experience in a Broward school for Kindergarten). He is more than ready to go to 2nd grade now. Also, the aftercare program that Ms. Patty runs is AMAZING! My son doesn't want to leave at the end of the day. He is also enrolled in the summer camp and I can't say enough wonderful things! My son loves getting up and going to camp every morning! Thank you Manatee! We love you!!!!!

This year my 3rd grade son had a great reading teacher that had to leave at the at the beginning of the year for personal reasons, the replacement is a young teacher with little experience that cannot handle the kids as she should. There are a few teacher that are rude with the kids (computer and media) and even the people from the cafeteria always look upset. Coming from out of state I really noticed the difference, Manatee is a good school but definitely could be better.

Overall school is great. Some great teachers and some not so great teachers. The current principal is unprofessional. Wonderful students!
I think manatee is a great school with great edjucation and safety. There are some great Manatee teachers however some of the staff can be very rude and use foul language and make fun of the kids especialy if they are shy or very smart .
I am a former teacher who worked under the current principal there at Manatee and I must say that she is an asset to any school or organization she chooses to work for. She is truly dedicated and highly capable of pushing those children to new heights. She also remembers that they are children and need that nurturing that the parent spoke about earlier; addiontally her high expectations for staff along with her support adds to the rapport she had always had as a leader. I am proud to see her excelling as I always knew she would.

I give it all the stars possible! They push the kids academicaly while nuturing their characters. The teachers have work with me and my son wakes up happy to go to school. Excellent school.

Fantastic teachers was a great neighborhood school! However, all extracurricular activites have been non-existent this year. Wish the new admin. would feel appreciative about the strong parent involvement.

My son is in first grade and I have to say that I have nothing but great things to say about the school. The staff is welcomong, caring and competent. My son loves to go to school and he is learning academically way ahead what I would have expected.

Manatee elementary is awesome, mainly due its fantastic teachers! Our daughter is in 2nd grade & she is thriving, being challenged academically, and is nurtured and cared for at the same time. manatee provides a safe, hard-working, warm and thriving learning environment!

My daughter has been going to Manatee since Kindergarten. The school is well organized and informative. The teachers are knowledgeable and dedicated. There's alot of parent volunteer and participation in this school. Plenty of fundraiser events to get the children and families involved in the community. The students have done very well on FCAT every year. The school 5th grade patrols are courteous and helpful. This school really helps shape the students to be a moral and responsible young adults.

How many administrators do you know that come to 99% of the schools functions? Mrs. Churchill-Jones, Mr. Peccia and their secretary Mrs. Sosa were at the read and run marathon this past weekend. They stood on the side lines and cheered on every kid that went by (even the ones from different schools). We are blessed to have such supportive administration here at manatee. Mrs. Churchil-Jones door is always open. I encourage everyone that has had negaitive posts to go in and speak with her one on one. You will find that she is one of the nicest people you will ever come in contact with. She has one main concern and that is OUR children. How can you not admire that! As far as the 'rumor makers' you know who you are. Youre not fooling anyone. Your just wasting your time and making yourselfs look bad.

Manatee is a good school there is always room for inprovement in any school. I believe this because, we are all human and there is room for improvement in all our lives as individuals. So, before critizing Mrs. Churchill Jones please consider your own envolvement in your childs discipline and academics. I have found the staff and Mrs. Jones work together well. they together display more professionalizm than the previous administration. The only complaint I have is that the parents volunteering wouldn't let their egos get in the way of be friendly and thoughtful to all children and there parents, under every cicumstance.!!!

My daughter and son are both students at Manatee. I myself am a parent and teacher at this school. I am proud to say that I was one of the original teachers to open this school in 1994 and am thrilled to be back. I have worked at several schools with many adminstrators. Mrs. Churchill-Jones is right up there with the best of them. There are few principals that when they visit a kindergarten room sit right down on the rug to enjoy a lesson with the kids...she does! She is approachable, promotes professional development, and is eager to build a team atmosphere at this school. We are quite fortunate that Dr. Johnson appointed Mrs. Churchill-Jones to be the leader of this already awesome school. Stay positive it is contagious!

I am a parent with two boys at Manatee .I am thrilled that our new administration is supportive of our teachers and parents. Mrs. Church-Hill Jones is proactive and interested in professional develoment to make our school the best it can be. I appreciate that we had administration supporting our children at the Read and Run Marathon wishing them well before the run and greeting the kids as they came in to the finish line at the Read and Run Marathon December 6th. Thanks Manatee!

I am a parent who is very pleased with the new principal. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Ms. Churchill-Jones. She is easy to talk to and always makes time to hear what the parents have to say. I know for a fact that some of the things parents are saying are NOT true. They do not have their facts straight. The rumormill is crazy right now and causing mass hysteria which is not necessary.
