LPS is a wonderful school, and the only reason we lived in this area. Mrs. A is the most caring staff member, and she really makes our day every day. The administration staff is great as well, especially the head of the special education programs- Barbara Olsen-Fleming. Our son is autistic, and they were wonderful with him. The 3rd grade class has a swimming week which ends in a lunch stop at McDonald's- we didn't feel comfortable allowing our son to swim without us, and the teacher, Ms. Fersaci, was so nice, she brought McDonald's food back for our son so he wouldn't miss out. Our only issue is the parent rarely sees or speaks to the teachers; most communication is through notes, and weekly class news, which we think is just not enough to know how our kids are doing on an everyday basis. We talk to the school monitors more than the teachers. Still, we would recommend this school to everyone.

I am a old student of this school, I am now a Senior at Lecanto High School. I loved my time in Lecanto Primary and think it helped shape me into who I am today. I started the 1st grade there and now I excel above average. I think they worked well with kids that were ahead but did not push them to the extreme. They did well and I admire and thank all of my teachers.

At one time this was an excellent school. Unfortunately it now has failed the state qualifications for the last four years and will now pass students to the next grade even if they should need to be retained as they are so intent on meeting the state standards. What ashame they have fallen so far.

I have a grandson in Mrs. Greens class, she is an excellent teacher for both the student and the family. The last time we visited our grandson, our grandson was having a very hard time with our leaving. We live 16 hrs away.Mrs. Greene took the time to walk our grandson and my husband back outside, trying to help with the effect of our leaving. As soon as we come into the school the front desk staff knows us and is always ready with our hall pass. Thank you to all of Lacanto pimary school

I agree, the open classrooms cause many distractions for the students. Also, they combine 2 classes for 'hands on' around one small circular table. My child rarely gets to actually see every step of the way.

Since my son has been in this school he has been doing so well! He is learning so much! And enjoys going to school! The alternative calendar is a wonderful way to spend more time with your kids! This school is the best in the county... in my eyes! Thanks!

there should be closed class rooms so the students will be less distracted......Most of the teachers are excellent.
