I don't know if it is because I have just relocated from one of the best school districts in the nation, or if this school is just terrible. There is no challenging my daughter in her 1st grade class. Example: when she started here, we were provided with a list of spelling words for the rest of the year...she knew them all. If you expect mediocrity from children then that is what their output will consist of. My daughter has learned three new profane words in the two months that she's been there. She has been pushed and shoved, been told to shut up, and tells me that kids think their work in class is stupid. This distaste for school in the first grade is disturbing; regardless of parent involvement, if school is enjoyable for a child, they will enjoy being there. There is limited recess as opposed to the gym time and daily recess that she received at her previous school. We had to relocate because of my husband's work, and we are seriously regretting this. On top of all of this, it has been two months, and after numerous attempts to contact the teacher, I am now having to go through the principle. My experience with this school has been horrible.
Hi, A little bit back I made some comments that where inappropriate considering the dedication and efforts put forth to make this school system operate as well as it does. The anger and misinformation that I had was coverd by a deep heart felt conversation with the administration. These people here at Treadway are dedicated to the proper education and manerfull upbringing of our children.
Unprofessional on many levels, from the front desk to some of the teachers, and there aids. Screaming at students is a common practice in this school. After lunch no recess? Whats the deal with this? Sunshine equals vitamin D, exercise lowers stress and tames the high energy students, not to mention proper social development. Get it together Treadway/Leesburg.
This was the first year for both of my kids at TWE. They had a great year and learned a lot. The teachers and administrators care about the students and work to promote a positive atmosphere. Although the facility is older and there are a number of portable classrooms, the custodial staff does a great job keeping it clean and making sure that it looks welcoming to students.
My daughter has gone to Treadway since Kindergarten and will now be going into 4th grade. She has consistently been an A+ honor roll student. And also earned the distinction of being one of only 3 children to get a perfect score on the reading portion of the F-CAT. The admin. staff and teachers are a wonderful group of people that really care for our children and their education.
my experience with Treadway is great so far. Have one child in Kindergarten. The school and staff are excellent.
Parents are treated as partners in their child's education at this school. Parents are given the knowledge and materials needed to help their child from home. Education in the arts is valued here as the students have certified art and music teachers that they see weekly. The teachers care about their students and communicate with parents in order to let parents know every step of the way how students are doing. Extra curricular activities include a Fine Arts Club, Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts, Indian Guides,Baton Lessons, and Violyn lessons. There is a 4th and 5th grade band, and the 5th grade students are reporters and run the morning announcements.
This has to be the best school in Lake County. Mr. campbell is a sweet man who truly cares about every single student there.
Three of my children have attended Treadway. All of them were very prepared for middle school and Treadway gave them a positive attitude toward learning. The teachers go out of their way to make each student feel special and important. The teachers also value parental input. As far as recess, my daughter went to P.E. two times a week for 45 minutes or so. Her teachers have always taken them outside. (usually two or three times a week) I asked about recess and was told that individual classes can go outside. They just do not like many outside at once as children tend to get hurt. I fully support the principal in making that decision because no one wants a child to get injured. I feel that my childrens academic and physical needs were always met there.
Treadway is an excellent school. The parent involvement is phenomenal and it has an active PTA that is supportive of the students and teachers. The majority of the staff are professional, caring and sincere in their goal of teaching. The children are safe. Children are first in the eyes of administration as well. My oldest son has had a 4 years of quality learning. He has grown so much socially as well, in a setting appropriate for children unlike many schools today. I have two more children who will be attending Treadway and I hope the quality and sincerity remain.
