This school is very very good, I would recommend this school to the world, my son is learning and having fun doing it. The teachers are great, the administration is awesome, and the school is very active in community.

Both of my children attend VPAA and we are very happy with the school. The administration and teachers are wonderful. I truly feel that the best interest of the students come first. My children are exposed to dance, drama, art, music, Spanish and so much more during their enrichment. The uniforms work very well for many reasons, especially during the middle school years. Thank you, VPAA, for all that you do!

My grandson goes to Veterans Park Academy for the Arts and I am very happy he is a student there. The way he speaks of the school let's me know the teachers really care and want the students to excel in their studies and extra subjects as music and so on. He always beings home good grades and the schools SAT scores are fantastic. I am a very proud grandparent of a student that goes to your school.

I have two children who currently attend Veterans Park Academy for the Arts. One of my children is in elementary and the other in middle school. I can't express enough how pleased I am with the school, the administration staff, the teachers and the programs that are offered. All of the programs including the ones in elementary school are very focused on the academic needs of the children and are aligned with the Florida Sunshine State Standards. The elementary teachers communicate daily through planners and many of the elementary teacher's send home their own newsletters besides the one that is put out monthly by the school. I found that parent link is a fantastic user friendly system to use to look up my children grades and to find out what assignments are complete or missing. The teachers all keep up websites that have information that is valuable to me.

Veterans Park Academy for the Arts is a great school. The teachers, administration and support staff all care about students. The curriculum is challenging and the library has many interesting books for the students to check. This school year my son took guitar class and went from not being able to play to playing a full repertoire of songs. I give this school a Grade A rating!

Veterans Park Academy for the Arts follows strict guidelines when it comes to the safety of the students. I have my two children at this school and I know that they would not release my children to just anyone.

My children have attended this school since it opened. I love it!! I can't say enough good things about it. I love that they wear uniforms. The teachers are the best, they help the students and are great at communicating with the parents. The principals are very involved with the kids. I am so glad that I picked this school!!!!

I have a kindergarten student and agree that this school's curriculum for kindrgarten is lacking. Parents are expected to do much of teacher's job at home. Yher is poor communication from teacher to home in regard to testing and dates of testing. No test scores are sent home or explanations of scores when you ask about testing. I am very disapporinted in the lack of concern for our youngest studetns.

This school has poor programs for students who struggle with their grades. The teachers in fifth grade do not send home graded papers so every time you work with your child on homework or study for test you have no way of telling if they passed the exam or homework until report card time. If you have a problem with your child's teacher and their teaching style this school does not switch teachers leaving your child to remain with the same teacher all year long. Terrible school would not choose this school!

This is a great school. my daughter left a very poor taught middle school. With bad administration, bad teaching, and overall horrible, and yes its in lehigh! But Veteran's is great. The teachers care and accuatlly teach. The kids have a bond with staff and teacher. My daughter was getting bad grades at the other school ,but since moving schools she has made nothing but AB and C's. I could not be more PLEASED....I would recommend this school to everyone I know. I am sending my son as soon as he can start school....

If you truly think your child will get an emphasis on the arts -- think again. My child has attended VPAA for three years. He spends most of his enrichment activities doing nothing b/c the class is in trouble and being punished. While I know there are several teachers there that are outstanding, we have yet to have that pleasure. We have had a teacher who cant imagine trying anything other than what is in the textbook to one who does not speak or write properly. The principal is unyielding and allows bullying by both teachers and students to continue unchecked.

I feel that this is the best school in East County to send your children for elementary and middle school. They will not only get superior academics, but also introduced to the Arts.

About the tests

Florida uses School Grades to measure the overall performance of a school each year on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
