Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

This is an extremely BAD school, Teachers pretend that the children are doing great and that they are at the top of the class, and when you ask the child a question, he/she doesn't know anything. The Principal does nothing to better the school and the front office staff (most) are rude and arrogant. This is a "D" grade school, If it wasnt because I teach advanced stuff to my child he wouldnt know anything. Im glad that my child will go to a better school next year.

This school is the worst school ever. This is the second year dealing with them and its no better then last year. Instead of them getting to the bottom of a problem and trying to fix it they sent me a letter saying that they will take away his field trips for the year. haven't even talked to the teacher yet so I feel that this is a little extreme. My son won't tell on another kid if they do something to him because he gets in trouble not the other kid. This is not how a school should be ran and I think that they should listen to all sides and then decide and not just dismiss the child that is having a problem.

I think that Liberty is the WORSE school that a child can go to. Some staff members are extremely rude to parents and children alike. The principal does absolutely nothing to solve issues and the school dropped a grade as of last year. Thank God that this is my first and last year ever having to deal with this school.

The teachers are wonderful... My Children love this school and it shows when in the past 4 years my son has been on the honor roll because of the positive influence of the teaching staff there. I love this school and the way that the communication flows with teachers, students and parents!! They deserve to win!

My son has been attending Liberty since kindergarde. He will be graduating fifth grade in the summer. Liberty has been able to structure their curriculum to create balance in my son's life. The parents are always informed and involved in the school's activities.

My daughter is in 1st grade and has been at this school since kindergarten. Her teacher Ms. Johnson is absloutley wonderful andlast year Ms. Shapanka was great as well. I feel as is this is one of the best schools for a child to go to they strive so hard for these children to be the best that they can be. My daughter loves it here and i cant blame her, she was student of the month last month and she was so excited. I feel as if this school is giving my daughter the tools that she needs to be successful in life.

My husband and I are parents and teachers. Liberty Elementary is an excellent school. Learning is alive and the teachers love what they do. The children are excited to go to school. The beginning years are wonderful as they learn in a hands-on atmosphere, with their classrooms full of the joyful noise of happy children, and the walls and windows decorated with the children's artwork. The children feel that it really is their school and that they belong. They have a strong PTA. The Principal is such a nice fellow, and he is a daddy of a young one, as well. The assistant Principal is strong and handles all issues along with a support staff that really works as a team. The principal trusts the teachers to do their job, and he treats them with respect. The teachers are happy, so the children are happy! We love it! A++++

Has it's strengths and its weaknesses. Strength: principal - does all that he can to provide the best. Our expereiences have been great teachers. Qualified and caring! involved pta-good team! weaknesses are the lacking budget which equals to lacking necessary supplies and tools and the non-invloved parents. So weaknesses are not that of liberty but of the educational system & parents.

My children have been at Liberty for many years, basically since it was 'born'. We were pretty lucky with the teachers they had, but that is pretty much it. The rest is just it - the rest. Unless requested I don't feel that the children get much opportunity to advance. And I'm sorry that the 5th graders do not get opportunities for trips and more rewarding activities when they worked so hard to get there. I understand they want to be fair to the lower income families, however the children should get the opportunity to go to St. Augustine's or Busch Gardens, or somewhere else in fifth grade. Unless you are a parent that stays on top of what is going on, Liberty can make you feel like something more could be done.

I feel the school is doing just enough to get by. The childern are not challanged and get bored. Other school's in the district seem to have more educational tools.

Every person who works there is clearly part of a team and it shows in the students performance. The principal is one of the best I've ever met. Extracurricular activities are lacking only because of district budget. We as parents need to volunteer more of our time if we expect more.

Liberty Elementary is a fairly new school, you would think that they would have more extra curricular activities available to the students. If your child is not above average, and you aren't a concerned parent, definitely your child will fall in between the cracks.

Liberty is an excellent school. I like the concepts of the homework folders with homework on Mondays through Thursdays. Because of funding statewide, the children do not get enough PE, music or library time. The only obvious complaint I would have is pick up time for drivers. Drop off is fairly smooth, but in the afternoons there is a long line of cars and it seems to be a never-ending nightmare at 2pm. I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of having staggered release times for primary and intermediate students to alleviate this concern. The individual teachers I've come across are wonderful.

Liberty Elementary provided good academic programs. I was never made aware of any extracurricular activities. They encouraged parent involvement in everything, and seemed to have pretty good involvement.

My son finished 1st grade at Liberty. I believe he did really well, considering he left a private school to attend Liberty. His teacher was amazing, she had great teaching skills and my son left the first grade with great reading skills.

I am a parent of a first grader. I have been active in this school for the past two years. I feel blessed to have my child at Liberty. The staff is incredible, the programs are both challenging and exciting and the school atmosphere is inviting, yet safe. Our Principal is dedicated to quality education for all students.

My child attended Kindergarten, I was very disappointed that she was not challenged and was allowed learning choices wether to color or write. Volunteers were not welcome in the class and rarely in school.I'm very disappointed. I had to supplement the learning at home. I met several times with the principal and she let it be known it was quote'her school'. It is the childrens school and they deserve an opportunity to be challenged. Check out the FCAT scores.
