Both of my children have attended this school and I think it is an excellent school. The administration, teachers and staff have a genuine interest in the academic success of students. My children have received a top quality education here. I would highly recommend this school.

Most of the teachers in this school are mean and rude. This school has a very cold and unfriendly environment. As a parent, I am not happy with the teachers (who are not helpful), the office staff is not pleasant, and the administration is never to be seen. I'm putting my child in a charter school this year.

At the begining I was not too comfortable with the school... but as time went by I noticed how interested my 9 year old became towards education... The teachers are very attentive and keep parents informed. I made the right decision moving them to Kendale Elementary! :0)

Administration and faculty work together to create a fun and creative learning environment! Small school so the students are all well known. Children are well prepared for the next step and beyond.

Not sure what to compare this school with? If I compare it to the worst school then its a great school but if I compare it to the best then there is a lot to be desired. Very little creativity and innovation. Wastes time with silly stuff and then teachers say they don't have time to go outside the box. Leadership lacks passion, motivation, and making learning fun.

This is one of the best elementary in dade county! The gifted program that they have formed since last year has been wonderful. The teachers are so excited to learn and the kids are excited to learn: what a great combination. I am so happy they decided to go full-time gifted, it was the best idea! thanks dade county

As a parent of a 1st grader, I am happy with the overall education my daughter is receiving. I feel the teachers are in tune with each student s progress in the class. The on-line home learning programs such as river deep and www.learning.com are both fun and educational. I do feel that the school is lacking on the availability of program such as art, music and physical education. This is a vital component of a child s overall well being. All in all, the school is great! - Yolanda Morsy

Kendale Lakes is the greatest school ever! I'm not a parent, but I am a former student that moved. I was really upset when we moved for one main reason: Kendale Lakes was simply too great to give up. The principal is awesome, and at Kendale Lakes I had tons of friends, including the teachers. I don't know who my favorite teacher is because they were all great, and, the gifted program was so good. Now that we moved and I go to a school in Atlanta, GA, my mom and I realized how good this school is. If you were to compare this school to another one in Georgia, Kendale Lakes Elemenaty is 500% better.

When my son start in 4th grade at this school he didn't know a word in English and all the teachers worked hard to help him and right now he is at middle school and speak and write very very good. Sports are not a strong subject at this school. Something very positive that this school have is the number of students is not too high, so they can offer personalize attention to each student. This is a great school.

The academic program is wonderful, teacher ar experimented and are always concerned about the students, there are a lot of extracurricular activities to encourage the children to practice sports and develop artistic qualities. The school staff including teachers has a very good interaction with parents, they are always trying to do the best for the students. Kendale Elementary is a veri good school.

I am so impresed with this school. The parent/teacher/principal communication is excellent. I love the e-mail system they employ to stay in touch with the parents. Also, the Riverdeep program is an excellent learning tool.

I think that this school needs to increase it's learning power and that the teacher's should play a more important part in a child's daily progress and academic development. There should definitely be more extra curricular activities. Parents should have more access to their children's progress and suggestions for educational edification should be considered.

About the tests

Florida uses School Grades to measure the overall performance of a school each year on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
