I graduated Killian in'82. Great school at that time. :) Great memories!! The school was open ...not all walled up...off campus lunch...just perfect!

Killian has good teachers that have high expectations of us. Most were always willing to lend an extra hand to help you learn before or after school. All schools have their share of bad/ uncaring teachers. I have friends in the other local high schools (magnet and well-established schools with excellent reputations), and each year they've had their complaints about some of their teachers-- Killian is no exception but overall a good school and learning environment. My suggestion: always take the highest level classes you can.

This school has an open communication policy. The principal is accessible as are the APs. The teachers are responsive. Communication is excellent. Killian still provides a great rounded education. Dual enrollment classes are a wonderful asset as well.

Incompetent teachers. No wonder it's so hard to fix our awful school system , ms Hardy math teacher is the perfect example, she has crossed a serious conduct line .

I'm a Junior at Killian and i love this school. Some people always say ohh it's killian all the bad kids go there. Honestly its not. If your are in the ap and advanced classes there so good and you learn alot. the school spirit is outstanding and there are so many after school activities to get involved in.

Weak Spots: - Principal - Getting Contact w/counselors - Emphasis on orchestra - money management I have never seen the principal. It's quite difficult to get in contact with my counselor. Band is supported, but the school ignores the fact that the Orchestra teacher is not as interested in Orchestra as he really should be. Also, they spent all this money on making the school look good, yet they don't have enough money for class sets of textbooks. Strong Points: - Gifted and AP Teachers - Choral and Band program - Sports - Vice Principal I never had any regular teachers whilst in Killian, but I can vouch for the majority of the Gifted, Honors, and AP teachers. The choral and band program are phenomenal. I know most of the Sports teams are always very successful, and the a.p. is willing to talk to all of the students on a personal level.
