Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Average public school. Not very special in terms of departments, although they offer several arts programs that are good.

This school sucks they never listen to what you want you ask them to do one thing and they do the exact opposite, the staff is horrible and rude and they all show favoritism, i hate this school so much and i'm forced to be here, the kids in the school are all rude and will lower your self esteem if you don't have as much of money as they do, i could say about 2/3 of the teachers don't know how to teach. Honestly going to school at everglades makes me feel like I'm wasting my time.

4 years later I appreciate my old high school like no tomorrow. I met all of my friends there. I wasnt the best student but I look back and realize I had great teachers. AP smith was the best. Just dont get on his bad side. Hes not as bad as people think he is. He always had my back. Not sure how the school is now. Just enjoy it and make the best of it.

I will gladly be leaving everglades high-school, and will not return gladly because of the need for reevaluation for teachers and staff. Why are the most critical subjects handed to teachers that can not teach?!! Also, Everglades is not a very pleasant school, and my experience during my time here was miserable. Some teachers tend to favorite others, and some teachers have TERRIBLE passing rates, I will never understand why they were rewarded as an "A" school. Why should I settle with a fake A school like this one? I have to say the best and motivating teachers at the school had to be the AP teachers whom show their care for the students besides their paychecks.. THE KIDS ACT TERRIBLE TO TOP IT OFF TRYYY TO ME

I think Everglades is good....what makes Everglades bad is that some students are mean to others and sometimes they don't realize the importance of education.

My Daughter is in 11 grade, she been in Everglades since 9 grade. At first I was nervous & scared. I would hear so many bad things about that school, Especially about the students & teachers. So far my Daughter is doing great. The school is not that bad!

I have a son in the school now and one child that has already graduate from the school. I see a difference in the school now with the new principal, Mrs. Darbar. She cares about the students and is very interested in parents, students and an of their concerns!

Honestly, Everglades isn't that bad. There are fights and incidents in every school. If the student is focused and build a relationship with the teacher they will succeed. I f the teacher sees that the child wants to better themselves they will help. We also have the biology teacher of the year and most of the teachers are very highly credited. The JROTC program is outstanding and will encourage everyone to take the course. I love it

I am a freshman in high school and i do not like Everglaeds at all. Most of the teachers do not even teach. The people their are rued amd motionless. The students dress nastly and do not act with intelligence at all. If you want your child to go to a school where they can get a good education and freinds DO NOT SEND THEM TO EVERGLADES!!!!!!

I am a parent of (2) 10th graders this year... I am very impressed with the level of security, professionalism of the staff and the family feel that's received from the over 2800 students this year... I really hope it stays the same or get even better so that my children graduate in 2 more years... Let's go Gators!

My daughter just completed 9th grade and I was very impressed by the visibility of the principal every morning and security. The campus is pretty big compared to what my daughter was use to so I loved the fact that they kept them in one area. Guidance was very heipful and informative. Teachers were pretty good but maybe time for some to retire. Lots of clubs and activities to stay involved. Overall a good first year! Looking forward to an even better one this fall!!

I am a graduate from the class of 06 and my brother will be attending this school soon. I felt their was a bit of a rift between regular students and more advanced students. A student who challenges themselves with honors and AP classes will receive a quality education with teachers who are motivating, demanding, and they are some of the best in Broward. Mr Most, Mrs Samson, Mrs Warner and many more will go above and beyond in making sure you are academically competitive with the best in the state. However if your student wants to just be average. Their are teachers who will pass you just to get them out of their class. The school does offer an academy for students who struggle and it's full of problem kids. They are required to take JROTC and it is a good experience to get them back on track. Go Gators!

My daughter just completed her first year here and has done extremely well. She likes her teachers, they motivate her to learn, make her classes fun and interesting. She has made friends. Although she was a little afraid her first day; she wishes the year had not ended so quickly. This school offers so much academically; allows students to express creativity; campus is clean, safe; staff is courteous; organized. Always preparing students for college.

my kids first year and last at everglades, I found the quality of the majority of the teachers is very poor. They do not focus or have any motivational skill for teens to do well. I hear it from my daughter and all her friends there. regret having her go there teachers dont know the impact on teenagers they can have.

This school is AWESOME! I love it, it holds a magnificent and plethora of events to become involved in, and you make friends where ever you go. It gives you a pre-taste of the outside life, being on your own, and handling you own business. Everglades gives you an opportunity to succeed, giving us the ability to graduate with above 24 credits with our block schedule. It's just so darn awesome, I love it !

im a student that just transfered from american senior high to everglades & i must say the difference between the two schools are amazing, people think that american is a low class school but where people dont see is the effort that the teachers put in everyday. besides everglades teachers lack discipline and leadership & the students are spoiled and rude. thats my view from a student.

The experience was good in EHS. It is over crowded but thats not a major issue, students get thru the day. Teachers are good, and they really help you out. One thing is that EHS does not have that many sports.

Coming from another public school in the area which allows me to compare, I have a very positive opinion about EHS. Issues and concerns that have risen have been addressed immediately and telephone calls/e-mails from teachers and AP have been returned within hours. Intimidation, bullying and harrasment are not tolerated at EHS and action has been taken immediately. You will be surprised how other public schools will handle that ... 'Your child's gotta keep it low key'. What kind of solution/approach is that? We parents need to take responsibility for our children's behavior and actions and not leave it up to the school to deal with. Respect, manners and compassion begin at home.

Everglades HS has the potential of being one of the best all around high schools in our county. Have experienced our first year and seen the school fall one grade level to 'C' instead of going up to an 'A', there's a need to correct this with collaborations between our Principal, all Vice Principals Guidance Counselors, teachers, students, and PARENTS. We need more of parent/teachers special meetings to get a good message across that Everglades High will become an 'A' graded school. Lets hear what our teachers need from parents involvment. How to help the counselors so that when parent calls they should be able to return the call within a reasonable time. I,as a parent have always tried hard to help all the kids in my neighborhood who goes to Everglades to focus and get the best grade as possible. Thank you to the school and pricipal.

The large size of EHS severely impacts the learning environment. Students at both ends of the spectrum (i.e., those in advanced classes and those who need special attention) get extra support, while those 'middle of the road' kids fall through the cracks. In addition, we have had a number of occasions where teachers and other staff members did not return phone calls. Guidance Department is not particularly helpful due to the large number of students each Guidance person is responsible for (600-700 each). We are not at all happy with EHS.

I couldnt go to Everglades longer then a week...teachers didnt care...they want to get out of there as fast as the students. I want to learn not play and its sad that a student wants it more then all her teachers. Their security is horrible... safe would be the last word I would use for this school! Just research some on the past events that have happened and you wont have to think twice!

Glad to see the 9th graders separated. Should have been done years ago. Now, if you could just get some other sports programs, like gymnastics. Some of these students have never even been on parallel bars or balance beam. What is up with that?? Where is the well rounded physical education? Gymnastics are great for everyone! Too much concentration on football and basketball, and the teams are limited to so few participants.

This school is very crowded. The Math department is in need of help. Many of the Honor's Math teachers are not willing to assist the students because they seem to have this belief that Honor's students can teach themselves.

Although Everglades is a fairly new school, they have major work to do when it comes to leadership and the professionalism of the administrators. You can find quality academic programs, but be prepared to do battle if your views are different than some of the staff members. I was happier than my teenager at the graduation ceremony. That chapter is now closed in our family history book. Good luck!

I feel the school concentrates it's energy's mostly on athletics and not academics. Most of the teachers are coaches which leaves little time to assist the student with question or academic assistance. Security is good and I feel my son is in a relatively safe environment. The counseling dept has much to be desired. Don't expect to get your messages answered. The counseling dept is chaotic and disorganized. It's a new school therefore, I'll give it a few more years to get in shape.

The Quality of academic programs is one the highest I ever seen in the country. I have seen lots of parents involvement in the students quality of teaching for their kids. In the perspective of safety and discipline is among the highest in the state. Even coming to check out your kid, it involves several steps making sure that the parent has the proper ID, etc. Now for the Extracurricular activities specialty in sports I give the school a low 2. Football is a sport that most people love to watch. In my case I seen lots of kids that never get the chance to play. So what is the policy? MUST WIN!. Students come to practice to later find out that they may never get to play at all. What kind of self steam these students are getting?. An another year goes by.

As a former student of EHS all I can do is rave about it. The principal and staff are homey and welcoming making the school feel like a self enclosed family. The spirit at this school is remarkable - if your a student, you better be ready to show your gator pride. There is so much that can be said about Everglades, but most of it has to be felt - simply an amazing high school experience!

I think this school has a great future, the building looks like a correctional center, nevertheless it has a high level of technology. The student body is mostly african american and hispanic (in my opinion), teachers are OK but could be better. Staff is friendly. A lot of problems arise due to fights. Nevertheless is a good school for newcomers.
