The teachers care about their students. However, the building is full of mold, roaches and is filthy. Half the time the toilets do not work because the septic system can not handle the use. Mr. McKinney does not provide the needed care for students such as speech therapist or special education evaluations. He uses the school as a tool to raise money for his programs. He will break the law and state regulations an d bully people into his will.

This school is NOT a good school. Teachers let student run the school. Children are bullied and teacher do nothing about it!!! SO SAD!!!! The guy running the school is only worried about money not your child.

This is still a relatively new school, so you have to be willing to give it grace. For those of you who don't know, the school is affiliated with a non-for-profit organization known as United Global Outreach. The CEO/founder of UGO is a wonderful man with a heart for the people in Bithlo. However, I have many concerns with the school. OCA was created to provide children in the Bithlo area with a quality private education. Many of the children are considered "at risk" and unfortunately the teacher's there do not seem equipped to handle children in that capacity. The result is an awkward blend of being overly authoritative towards the children (which ends in everyone feeling frustrated) with little to no progress in academics,. There is also an endless stream of uncensored volunteers traipsing in and out of the school with little to no supervision around the children. This is very concerning, not only for the children's safety, but for the good and reputation of the school. I think with strong leadership, a unified and well trained staff, and the precautions expected of even a title 1 public school, OCA would be a fantastic school. Without those things, I would caution parents.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
