Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Horrible experience with both my daughter and nephew. This year was the tipping point when my 13 year old nephew was beaten up so bad by a 16 year old. Noboby called the police nor parents or myself until I picked him up from school. I went straight to the Broward board of education and removed them asap.

Poor school. Little is done regarding bullying. As the years have gone by, the school has and it's programs have deteriorated. This year they eliminated chorus, amongst other programs. My daughter is very dissatisfied with teachers and cirriculum. She and I are unhappy with the administrators inability to address and control the bullying that is taking place and increased over the years. I tried but was unable to move my daughter to a different school this year.

The teachers are great! They are very good at educating the children. I recommend this school. There is plenty of security in the school, and school resource officers. The school makes sure that kids are following the dress code and carry their ID badge with them. The school has been improved technologically. I am very happy with the school, staff, resource officers and kids there are well behaved.

I have a daughter that went to pines middle and is now in high school, however now i have a son in the 7th grade there and has been there since 6th grade. I have a 4th grader that is suppose to be going there in a 2 yrs and i am not sure if its a good idea. There has been a tremendous change for the negative. Teachers are worried about disciplining rather than teaching. They worry about dress code rather than what's happening with a students grades and how they can better their teaching skills. My son comes home and says that he tells his teacher he doesn't understand and right away the teacher tells him to pay attention and he will. No passion to take the extra step and assist him in learning rather automatic blame that the student is hyper & disrupptive. The kids don't respect them

Administration is very unorganized. It seems like no one knows what is going on. There is very little communication from administration to teachers. The principal delegates everything to everyone else. Principal is an extremely poor leader. Staff morale has dropped to rock bottom over the last 6 years. Students are rowdy in the hallways, we don't have enough security staff.

My child loved the 8 class schedule, because there were so many opportunities with all the core-enrichment classes. Now my child is unsure about how she will enjoy this upcoming year without the extra classes, that used to keep her interest in school!!!

This school is no longer an 'A' school. It became a 'B' school last year. However, everyone is working hard to make it an 'A' again. Working at this school is awful. principal and assistant principals don't know what they are doing except for Ms. Keneth and she is leaving.

This is a great school. It has maintained an A school for abou 7 years. Plus they have just constructed a new Pines Middle. Everyone is inside all the time now and the old school has been destroyed and they are goin to put extracurricular activities for P.E. and the teams

The two biggest problems I have with the school is 1. My boy has good grades but never seems to have much if any home work. 2. Give proper notice! You expect parents to pay for extra stuff trips, t-shirts, ets. with less than a weeks notice. Or worse, this DC trip less than two weeks notice. I'm a single father raising two boys, it would take me a year to come up with that much 'extra' money. Oh ya, did I mention that ALL deposits are non-refundable!

This is the best school in florida it has great discipline, uniform, and parent involvement. Being a parent of a 6th grader. My daughter tells me there are no bullies or making fun of.They are constructing a new building in the back of the building we use now.Since the building they are using now we be torn down and put as a p.E court for track and other sports.I hope you go here its a very good school.

I taught at Pines for the last three years. We got a new principal this past year, too soon to tell how things will pan out overall. Pines is a 'family' and it's very comfortable to work there. The overall school is rather run down, but they are rebuilding a brand new school starting 2005-2006 school year. It's high minority number of students.

I am not a parent of someone that went to this school. I am a student, who received my middle school education here. This middle school was great! The principal was always walking the campus. Not to mention this was an A school. The discipline was great too! The fact that we had dress code was actually good because we never had to worry about what to wear the next day, and there was no making fun of anyone because of their clothes. I personally loved this school! The teachers were great and they took time out of their day to help their students.
