My stepdaughter has been attending this school for 2 years now and, if it were up to me, she would not still be going to this school. I think it's very mediocre. I agree with hardly ever seeing any homework come home. She struggles a lot in math and science and after attempting to contact her teachers about this and receiving really no response, it's now getting close to the end of the school year and she's struggling in both areas. I would say for her 2 years of being there so far, the best teacher seems to be her band teacher!

Very disappointed in this school. The school gives little to no homework because parents complained about 'too much' homework. This school does not push children to learn to their full potential i.e. getting straight A's on their report cards. Instead this school offers an A/B honor roll so students with a low B or all B's and one A can be on the A/B honor roll. That does not inspire greatness, it inspires mediocrity!!

The administration of this school is below standards. They do not help parents. Even though the school proclaims to not stand for bullying, they do nothing to stop it or to help the victims. They do not back up their teachers. Some children who struggle are not given help even when a parent asks (or begs). My child has been attending this school for 3 years and it has not improved. As for moving to a different school; they are all bascially the same in Port St. Lucie. The schools just want to get the right numbers so the can get their money.

Manatee has a wonderful, caring staff that with which I am happy to be involved. Students are treated with respect and equally, while being recognized for their uniqueness.

Kindgergarten is an introduction to school for all children and I'm afraid my child has been through 2 kindergarten teachers that are in my opinion below level and inadequate. The principals office doesn't retun calls unless you make several and become irate and demanding. Very disappointed and my child is lucky to have been invited to the new charter lab school for 1st grade where he will actually receive the attention and encouragement that will make him want to excel.

We moved here last year from a town about the size of Manatee! My daughter started Kindergarten and adapted very quickly. Within a few short weeks, most of the staff new her by name and made her feel very comfortable. Her teachers have been wonderful and there is great communication from the school. Her teachers have gone above and beyond to make sure she is stimulated and challenged. The principals are terrific! They are the first ones you see in the morning and are always willing to answer questions and address concerns. They give the children a lot of praise and reward them for good behavior. It's a great community from school secretary all the way up! Meredith Norkus
