My son had a problem with bullies and a very bad teacher(MS.GROSS)at Shore Acres.I immediately was in contact with the guidance counselor, who backed the teacher, and would not transfer my son to another 3rd grade class. She said there wasn't room for a transfer, then 3 more kids were put in his class, 2 transferred from other classes and one new kid(another bully). The problem with the bully cont'd even after the gc talked to him and the kid recruited other kids. I wrote a note in the agenda saying that if the problems weren't fixed I would have my son transferred. Ms. Gross looked right in my son's face and said"I never liked you anyway and I don't care." Then the new kid pushed my son into a puddle on a rainy day and he came home in tears. NO ONE called me to bring him dry clothes and he sat all day in wet pants. I am waiting to hear back from Mrs. Burns on the School Board to get him out of this school.

I have 2 children at Shore Acres. One in 5th grade and one in 3rd grade. Both started there in Kindergarten and have had an amazing few years! We LOVE it, but more importantly, THEY LOVE IT! Could not ask for a more involved group of teachers, families, and PTA. THE BEST!!

I have two kids in the school and love it. It's a neighborhood school which means it's mostly comprised of local kids. My kids are in 4th and 1st and I can honestly say it's been a joy. The PTA is active, the teachers enjoy parental help and the students are well behaved. I volunteer occasionally so I have an inside look at what's happening. Top notch and an "A" school to boot.

I had many good experiences with this school and my kids' teachers. My one complaint is that Mrs. Hodges bullied my daughter with a disability for falling behind in line. The class was not even hers and her own teacher told her to back off and that she was her student and she had a disability. Mrs. Hodges got in my child's face and yelled at her very meanly. The school just gave us the runaround and nothing was ever done about it. There is a new principle now and we have since changed schools. We were also never able to volunteer in one of our child's classroom. Overall, very happy with the school though. The right teacher makes all the difference. Ms. Gable, Ms. Vaughn, and Ms. Cotilla are wonderful teachers. 5 stars for them.

My son's first year at this school, and he loves it. He loves his teachers and classmates. To my observation sometimes when stopping by at his classroom, i found his teacher, Ms.Siviter very kind and loving person.I am happy to see her as my child's teacher, and also happy to have my child in this school. i have one child who will be in Kindergarten next year and i will fight for her to attend Shoreacre instead of havinfg her go to school that rate "C" instead of "A".

My children only spent one day at this school and hated it...My first grader was spit on in the face, my fifth grader heard more four letter words than I care to say.....I would never recommend this school....Not sure why more of the parents aren't concerned about the behavior in fifth grade. But if you don't want your daughter talking like a trucker...this is defiantly not the school for you.

I have had 2 children at this school for 3 yrs grades K-3, we have had an excellent experience at Shore Acres. Teachers are very good, good, caring atmosphere. The PTA is very active. As with any other school, parental involvement is necessary so if there are any problems they can be identified and solved quickly.
