My son started school here, fall 2011. We chose to go here over another local high school because of the ratings it receives in Newsweek - a rating this school is very proud of - and after talking with staff members who would work with our son. It probably is a great school if your child does not need special services, or if your child does not have IEP. Since this fall, I have had one dropped ball after another - literally over 5 situations which should never, ever have happened. Thankfully, we are moving and we will be putting our son back in a school where we used to live, but since he started here, I have met 4 other families who have taken their child out of Lincoln, or have chosen to Home School, rather than choose to send their child to Lincoln (because of their Special Ed Program)- and these are just people I have met outside of school - church and parents from one of my other children's school. If you look at Lincoln, ask LOTS of questions, and be prepared for a fight. They do not like strong parent advocates. I could expand, but it is our personal story. Hopefully, yours will be more positive.
EXCELLENT AP PROGRAM PREPARING STUDENTS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION. THE CAMPUS AND FACULTY ARE TOP NOTCH....A++++ KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK
Faculty are biased, discriminatory and incompetent. One day while on campus for my son I witnessed some old guy on a golf cart suspend a young man for running home to get a book needed for class. He was almost to the doors when the tardy bell rang, but he got suspended anyway. That same guy is always sitting outside of my neighbors house harrassing all the students that go there for lunch. I can only assume that somewhere in the past, a student from this neighborhood caused some trouble and now all the kids that live here are treated poorly because of it. Many of the rockbrook kids are suspended for trivial reasons, so much that they end up dropping out because of attendance failure. Academically, though, the school has a lot to offer. Just don't live near it.
good school! great committed teachers great learning environment tons of extracirricular programs! lincoln's AP program is top 100 in the nation
My third son is about to graduate from Lincoln. My older two attend competitive colleges where they report heir preparation has been much better than their peers. The selection of AP courses and extracurricular activities are outstanding, and the administration (especially the principal) and faculty are wonderfully involved. I can't imagine 'settling' for the private schools in our area, while Lincoln's doors are open.
I love Lincoln! It is pretty large. I came from a private school and had heard bad rumors about public school and was therefore intimidated. But, I've found there are wonderful teachers and awesome friends to be found. Plus, our football team dominates! I love it there and would never give up my place there.
This is a very good, but large school. The class size is about 30 kids to one teacher and they have many extra curricular activities.
Quality Honors and AP Choice teachers, as well as, computer, graphic arts, and NJROTC programs; and a great sports program! My kids love it!
Leadership is everything... Lincoln has a wonderful principal who sets a great example for her staff and students. The school has some weak points (like dress code enforcement!) but overall has achieved remarkable things in many areas. I have one child there, next year will have two...I always recommend this school when other parents ask.
Lincoln's AP program is great. The teachers are top notch, and they are actually willing to communicate with parents.
