Teacher effectiveness: Somewhat effective

Some are good. Some are just a disgrace to teachers. I seriously don't think degrees exist in that school.

This school isn't even close to being a one star. It's absolutely the most horrific school in broward county. Okay it's definitely in the top 3. I can't even find the words to express how horrible this school is. I definitely don't think the school will be around much longer. A smart person will come around and shut it down. They also delete the negative comments every so often. Just take this as a warning. This school will eventually ruin your child!!!

Renaissance Charter School @ University is one of the most disorganized, money seeking facilities that I've ever encountered. It is my opinion that the welfare of the students take a back seat to the main agenda, money. I hope they've gotten it together by now, but i doubt it. Sad, very sad.

Great school, over-the-top staff, excellent curriculum and extra-curricular activities. The curriculum offers Art, Music, Science Lab, Spanish, Health, Computer and PE. Teachers are awesome and always willing to help. This is my kids' third year at this school and they loved it. Communication between parents and teachers is EXCELLENT. I highly recommend this school.

This is our second year at this school... Now I have 2 children attending there. Both years we have had excellent teachers and my children are happy and excelling in all of their courses....The teachers listen to your concerns and really try to assist in any way that they can. The only downside to the school is that the playground is small and they do not get to go on the playground every day. I highly recommend this school.

I personally HATE this school it is horrible, there is kids smoking, stuff like that It just gets me on my nerves when my daughter comes home and says that someone was bulling her today and that is almost EVERYDAY! The only reason why I put 1 star was becuase at least she learns something but not much as she is supposed too.

My boys were in a public school that they weren't doing so well and it didn't help they were bullied all the time. since they have been to this school they are happier than ever and they grades have pulled up tremendously. The curriculum is outstanding and they are pushed to be the best they can be. I love that they have Art, Music, Science Lab, Spanish and PE. Teachers are awesome and I hope they build a high school soon so my boys and continue going to this type of school. I still have 3 years before I get there but its here before I know it.

Very dedicated employees at the school. I think the only reason a student could fail is if they do not complete required assignments. I am very pleased with the school and feel that all of the staff is very dedicated and exceed expectations.

Renaissance Charter School at University - Excellent school, curriculum is beyond expectation, students are challenged and exposed to more than text book knowledge. They offer all the classes that have been cut from public schools (art, science, science lab, music, PE & foreign language). My child looks forward to going to school because the teachers make learning fun. The teachers are dedicated and offer students extra support by providing additional teachers in the classroom. Administrators have control of the students and make sure students adhere to school rules.

My daughter was in kindergarten and the teacher failed her in science. Before my daughter attended this school, she was doing home school and she passed in every subject. Now my daughter is at her home school and she's doing 110% better than she was at this school. My son's third grade teacher was awesome! Before she left for surgery, she preped the students. Within the short time my son was in her class, he learned a lot. He was doing 4th grade work. My son and I both Miss her. I told her at the beginning of the school year how my son had been bullied at another school and she told me I didn't have to worry about that, and she was RIGHT. I never had to worry about that!

Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school's profile?

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
