This school, admin, teachers and staff will make youy thrive if you wish. They will pick you up when you are down, and show you humility when you reach the top of the world.

Very nice school, excellent administration, great students, tutoring available. However, horrible staff teachers in the Exceptional Education Department. They have no clue, as how to help students with LLD or exceptional education needs in any core academic area such as math, reading and/or science. The football coach does not return parent phone calls, teachers do not respond to emails. Regular education teachers are excellent. Overall, this would be a five star school if they did an overhaul within the Exceptional Education department, encouraged/afforded more students to play sports, and worked harder at helping all students succeed.

Both my boys had a great 4 years here. My oldest was involved in the Band program which is one of the best in the county. My youngest just graduated and participated on both the baseball and football programs, which were both well run. Academics were challenging, and they both graduated with over a year of college credits and earned several academic scholarships. I was pleased with both the administration and faculty, and would recommend this high school to any parent looking for a solid school that supports both the arts and athletics..

Next year I will be attending high school somewhere. I was looking at Gaither but i am out of the district. Does anyone have a reccomendation on how to get in?

Posted July 27, 2012

The Great Schools 5 out of 10 mark is based on the Florida FCAT results, which is not an accurate representatation of the school. Gaither, like many Florida schools, has a population of latinos still learning the english language. This has an affect on the overall average of the FCAT. Not to mention that the FCAT grading scale was changed and is being changed again. Recommend actually going to the school and meeting the staff and kids, in person.

I am having the same problem with returned phone calls or emails. What do you have to do to get someone to return a call.

This school is fine when you are attending it- but once you graduate- Good Luck getting a return phone call or email! I have been writing and asking for some information regarding a transcript for over a week now and just got an email back saying, 'Can't help with this, sorry.' Wow, very helpful! So once you graduate, don't expect them to be there or help you in any way, shape or form. They are terrible with that!

This school is the worst, most of the teachers don't care and the admistrators are just as bad. They never return phone calls, emails. IF this the best the public schools can do our children are at a tremendous disavantage.

I'm so happy my daughter attended Gaither. She was not happy moving here from Chicago at first ,but soon made some wonderful friends. She became very active with the different clubs and school activities changing her from shy and soft spoken to a very confident young women. The AP classes helped prepare her by giving her a sampling of what to expect in college. She will attend USF this fall and i can't tell you how excited we all are. Thanks Gaither!! Job Well Done!!

I LOVE the Gaither band program! It is such a good influence on the students. It is great excercise and teaches them many life-long values like responsibility and social skills. The instructor and volunteer parents and adults from other schools and parts of the state are extremely helpful. I wish I still had kids in the Gaither band so i could be a part of it all over again - send your children here and get them involved in the MARCHING COWBOYS!

I consider Gaither High School one of the top five schools in hillsborough county. It's a fantastic school with a caring staff. Their classes provides great education for those who are interested in learning. Gaither also has various extracurricular activities for every kid to join. Gaither highschool is most likely to be the number one school in Tampa.

I'm deeply disappointed in the education programs at Gaither. The teachers do not have enough passion to be teaching. If they would care a little more about the all the children's education instead of what they are wearing, the school might actually be in the top 5% in Florida, like their vision states.
