Worst middle school I have ever had the unfortunate experience to enroll my child in. Administration is arrogant and uncaring. It's the good old boy network in their front office. Parents and kids are treated like trash and the Principal is the most unprofessional person I have ever seen. Also the school police officer is very rude and has a serious god complex. Some of the teachers are awesome and some don't even bother to respond when a parent calls them. Hope the district steps in and cleans house, this use to be a good school.

This school has gone downhill every year since it opened. The deteriorating student body has changed this school. Teachers are excellent, but administration needs to reign in disrespect and implement policies that instill pride in the school. PE is a disaster-- overcrowded, unorganized, with students in all grades mixed. Parents and teacher communication is less than adequate. Homework late policy is counterproductive and damages the drive and morale of students. These kids are still young and a better policy could improve attitudes, grades, and most importantly material understanding. The zero or 50% policy is negative, damaging to the school and students, and is not a universal policy in all schools so it represents a fairness issue. Implementation of a broad uniform policy would help reign in bully issues and class distinctions as well as start to develop a sense of school pride. More school socials would also help with getting kids to like and respect their school.

ECMS was a very good school, but this new year is seeing it start to fall apart. Electives are forced upon you, lunch is a mess, and the car line is disorganized. 6th graders mixed in with 8th in the same classes, and broken school properties. As a student who has been here 2 years, I can honestly say this.

I can't you what a relief it was to find out that this school offered a week long pirate camp for incoming 6th graders. My son went from knowing no one, to making a ton of new friends. As well as getting to know the wonderful caring faculty. Kudos to Ms. Leathermen who headed up this week( one of the guidance counselors, who volunteered). I can't wait for daughter to come summer of 2009. Did i mention it was free.....
