Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

My children attended RMS, one in Pre-engineering and one in Pre-med. They never had any interpersonal problems, did not complain of bullying, and made positive relationships in the school. There are several caring and involved teachers, Ms. Camacho, Ms. Labar, Ms. Spence, and Mr. LaVogue in particular. Not at all impressed with Mr. Pollard, the principal, or the Guidance department. Received a lot of lip-service and not action from interactions with these particular people, and also received misinformation, which was disappointing. Don't expect much help from them if you have a student who's a good kid/student and not a troublemaker. The orientation prior to school starting was embarrassing--pretty sad when the AP who is trying to address the crowd of parents has to chide the parents to pipe down and pay attention. Not a big fan of the code red lockdowns that happened frequently as well. My son loved the Pre-engineering program though, and misses the good friends he made while at RMS. My daughter misses her favorite teachers and a small handful of friends, but they are both happy and thriving at their current school.

I currently go to Roosevelt middle school, and I am going into the eighth-grade. Roosevelt middle school is not as bad as people think, but there is a huge bullying problem there. People make fun of me because of my skin color(even though I think were all the same skin color I'm just a little bit darker). Every time I tell a teacher or administrative my problem or my issue they don't do anything about it. Also the students that Roosevelt have very poor behavior. The teachers and administrators at Roosevelt do not praise the kids they get straight A's or all 4's in conduct, but they praise the poor behavior kids if they get a C which I think is ridiculous. On the bright side most of the teachers there are very great and care about us students. If I were to give Roosevelt rate on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it a 6. Thanks for reading.

I go to Roosevelt Middle school and I'm a student. To start things off, I would have to say that the school is horrible. I get bullied because i'm a atheist. The teachers there are some ignorant, slick-rapping people. The principal doesn't know how to do his job correctly. The students there are just bad. Thier tone is so ATROCIOUS when they are talking. I am a 7th grader and I would wish the new people in thier endeaver that are going to go to the school. I assure everyone that might go to the school that it isn't going to be very fun.

RMS is an amazing school with its Pre-Med, Engineering, Technology, and Environmental Science Programs, but there is an amazing amount of inappropriate language and constant BULLYING by the students! I guess the parents are not talking to their kids. There are some great teachers there because they try to made sure you get your work done, and they have a caring attitude towards the students. This school is great if you have decided on what you want to do in college, but you just have to have tough skin to go there, because kids constantly make fun of you for the smallest thing.

I just started going to this school in seventh grade, and I'm wishing that I can get out. I only came to this school for the Pre-Medical program. My last school, Bob Graham Education Center is better than this. The children bully you, and every day i see at least two violent fights in the hallway, along with spots of blood. Last time I got penalized for bringing and eating McDonalds. I'M STILL MAD BECAUSE I CAN EAT WHATEVER I WANT. This students are just plain ghetto, and I barely see a smile when I pas through the halls. I got put into a course that I'm too advanced for! On the other hand, this school has great counselors (They need it) and great after school and magnet programs. But they really need some work on the building itself and the kids. I have so many complaints. Thank God I have good friends there. I just hope i can get through the school year without a bloody nose.

I'm currently a 7th grader at Roosevelt. The school overall is good, and most of the teachers are great. But, the students in the school are really... bad. Many bully me or insult me because I'm an atheist and asexual. The principal also isn't very good at her job. There are good students though and the teachers are really supportive. The guidance counselors give us advice on almost everything, and my guidance counselor even gave me some notebooks because she knows I enjoy writing. The Environmental program is teaching me many things that I can use in the future, since I want to become a botanist. All in all, it's a good school with some bad kids.

I think that Mr. Lockhart is a great principal. However he needs to rid himself of some of the young administration that he has that only tries to make a name for themselves. There are some great teachers at RMS and there are some that just want a job. To some of the great ones, Ms. VV Smith, Ms. A Wright. Ms. A Williams. Ms. Pugh, Ms. King, and a few others Thank You for being whom you are and continue to assist the kids in being the best.

I attend RMS and it set me up to do great things iin high school. I'm glad that I went to RMS it gave me all the skills I need to do well in high school. The after school ativities are great and the teacher are there to help the kid in need with its tutoring almost everyday.

My son attended Roosevelt for two years in the Pre Engineering program. The guidance department really keeps the students on track. The aftercare/after school tutoring is great. I was really pleased with the fact that he could earn high school credit while in middle school. My son now attends Suncoast and is very successful academically. It attribute this success to Roosevelt preparing him for the faster pace of an advanced school. I definitely think the decision to pull him from his 'around-the-corner' home middle school and apply him to Roosevelt will greatly impact his acaedmic achievements in the future. I definitely recommend Roosevelt to any student or parent who wants their child to be ready for any high school out there.

My daughter is in her third year at Roosevelt in the Engineering Magnet. Lets face it, there aren't a lot of great Middle school choices in Palm Beach County. We heard all of the hype about Roosevelt, and I think that it used to be a 5 star school, but not anymore. If you have a self-sufficient child who gets along with all types of people, this may be the school for you. It is a rough crowd of kids and half of the teachers that we have encountered in 3 years don't really have the heart for teaching, it's a job. Most of the sports programs are great. Administration has a lot of turnover, so you never feel that you really connect with anyone as a parent. The principal is average, he comes to most things, will listen if you have an issue, but won't always find an answer.

The teachers & principal at this school give the student a well rounded, and positive, but disciplined - opportunity to learn and grow. Good teachers & Great extra curricular activites! Kudos to Roosevelt Middle School! My son has just been accepted to Suncoast & I believe that the education @ Roosevelt MS made this possible! Thanks RMS!

RMS has a lot of teacher/students issues that need addressing. I have two children that attend and although the school has great programs the teachers teaching some of theses programs are not. I have one child in all advance classes and one that is not, so I get both sides of the learning skills. I think the teachers need to be taught; how to deal with stress in a classroom, teaching children at different levels, and how to conduct a classroom. I agree with another parent the school has issues that need to be dealt with soon or RMS won't have or be that great school of learning anymore.

My daughter has attendent roosevelt middle school for 3 years. She is in their pre-med program which is awesome. Last year (2006)she was invited and excepted to temple university for the summer to study pre-med. Which by the way is paid for by temple university. She got invited back this year (2007) we owe everything that she has learned thus far to roosevelt middle school. (Kudos to the staff and teachers!) keep up the good work. I highly, highly recommend this school it's the number 1 in palm beach county! parent

Roosevelt Middle School being a magnet school I feel has alot of discipline problems which interferes with learning in the classroom. Most of the teachers are qualified but I think alot of students fall thru the cracks in education.

My son has attended Roosevelt Middle School for 2 years currently and is in the pre-med program. The quality of this particular curriculum is advanced. He has not participated in any extracurricular activities but they are available. Bus transportation is available in surrounding cities in Palm Beach County as is Tri-Rail. For those parents concerned about safety, this school has a lock-down procedure where you have to ring a bell to enter the school. They also have an active Parent-Teacher Association.

Roosevelt offers a graat medical program that is a wonderful preperation for high schools that offer a medical program. It's gifted program is also a great program that is offered. The classes offered are also of great value. The school offeres high school credit math, foreign language, science, computer, and medical classes. Roosevelt also offers a lot sports. It also offers a STEP after-school care program for students. It includes after-school help, aswell as many other school-sponsered activites. Roosevelt is a great middle school for students to attend, and is a great preperation for high schools. I high recommend it!
