We moved here from NY state and were very nervous about sending our daughter to this school. We absolutely love it. Everyone has been so kind and welcoming. Her kindergarten teacher and the support staff are wonderful! Academically our daughter has been challenged by the curriculum, but at the same time excited about learning.
All this school cares about is the FCAT. The principal is all about her, not the kids. This school needs to offer clubs like many other elementary schools do. Since class time is so limited clubs would be an asset. The kids need to be exposed to more than just FCAT and diaognistics.
Hate It, Really dislike the principal!!!! Staff very rude and unprofessional!!!!! Dont send your kids here!!!
GRASSY WATERS is the worst that my son hve every been to the teacher are bad the principal has no respect for the parnets she doesnt even listen to what the parnets have to say.
I have two kids in Grassy Waters. We moved here from Georgia which required the kindergarden class to know 100+ words by the end of the year which my son was the first to accomplish but now my daughter doesnt have that goal in Grassy Waters her goal is to learn 25 words for the year which she has already learned within the first month and a half since school started. Now I will be teaching her the other 75+ words that I feel that she should also be learning in school. I have no problem with teaching her at home but I also feel like the standards are too low. I also feel like they need to follow a set curriculum.
listen this school is amazing dont listen to these reviews its really fun especially mr.miller and coach roney the teachers are awesome and really work hard to pursue you expectations mrs alber and kelly and burton really care about you and are really fun!!
We moved to Palm Beach not knowing what to expect from this school and we have been extremely happy with this school. We have a child in the 3rd grade that needed a lot of help and teachers and staff where on it like white on rice. The ESE program does a lot to help kids that are slow to take, as well as having forums to update, to inform and to involve the parents. The school also came to us because they believe our 1st grader could be leaning towards giftedness. This schools is definitely here to teach and not here to judge or complain. The front office staff is always smiling and any time we are attending the school for anything, every teacher or staff member we've encountered have been down right terrific.
Fortunately, my child only attended this school for one year. The front office staff was nice. Most of the teachers are good. For field trips, etc. only cash is accepted. No checks ever. I found that to be frustrating. The drop-off/pick-off line could be better organized to expedite children going to/from school. In addition, the principal of this school tends to 'boss' the parents around during pick-up time. In my child's class alone, there were sadly, atleast 6 children who attended the school last year and were held back. I found that number to be quite high. In addition, communication from teacher to parent is severely lacking, which is unfortunate with modern technology of the use of e-mails, cell phones, etc.
Grassy Waters is for sure the greaters school in palm beach county. My daughter have mild atusim, and the teachers work with her to give her the best education.thank you!
Wow! Grassy Waters is one of the best schools I have come accross. I never have a problem getting my kids up for school (like I did before this school) and I have to pick them up later from aftercare because they don't want to come home a minute earlier than they have to. I do not agree at all with the review written below (well I agree with the first line about the program being the 'best ever'). My children always have their homework done. They even have a teacher who runs a homework club, so when my children need extra help, they can get it. I have had questions and the Director has always been very helpful in answering my questions and helping me. The font desk staff are very friendly and helpful as well. I would definitely give Grassy Waters and A++ in all areas!
My boys have been going here for 2 years now and it is a great school. I have to say the aftercare and summer camp is the best ever. They do a lot of activities for them and there's hardly ever down time. I do have a hard time getting homework done and staff co-operation. My son is in dual language spanish and since we don't speak it at home we can't help with homework. There are a lot of spanish teachers in aftercare, but they all seem so young and not verty concerned with homework even thought I have brough it to the directors attention several times. I have to say with all the horror stories I hear about teachers in florida being very cruel to kids, I haven't had any problems at this school, ever.
My son attends this school and Grassy Waters has exceed my expectations. He's in a program called 'PROJECT CHILD' which challenge him. He received a 4 on his FCAT scores which 5 is the highest. The teachers in this group are the BEST..they don't put up with ANY misbehaving or fooling around in the classroom. They are expected to do their best at all times. Parents this is a great school, if you let your child know what's expected and work with the teachers. He or She will be a star like my son.
My daughter has gone here now for two years (she's in the first grade.) There was definitely a concern at first due to the fact that this was a fairly new school and they were bussing in A LOT and they were 'B' rated but as time progressed, I was impressed with how they want to involve the students with doing lots of fun activities outside of school. Also there is an agenda book that is sent home daily to communicate with teachers. I find the discipline to be great and the principal is always visible and involved. I have been very happy so far with the teachers and staff. The school seems to be very well run and overall, I feel, the school is great.
My son attends this school. He's in the 1st grade. He's excited about going to school everyday, his reading comprehension has really increased. The teacher really seems to care about her students and creates an enjoyable environment for her pupils. My son was awarded with a citizenship award,in front of the whole 1-2and 3rd graders.Which for a shy boy was a huge confidence builder. Teachers, principal, and members of staff are very approachable and always address my concerns. I'm aware of any events or special activites my son participates in. The school is very organized, safe and pleasant. They really do a good job of motivating the students to get involved with charity work in the community as well. Overall I am very pleased with this school. I hope they get an A rating this year because they deserve one. Grassy Waters is a great school for anyone looking for a great school.
