Westwood Middle School

We are very dissatisfied with this school. We should not have sent our child to Westwood. The atmosphere is very negative-more like a prison than a school. Very damaging to a child's self-esteem. A lot of stress for both students and parents. Matters are not always handled in a fair manner. It's been one bad experience after another the whole time. We would definitely not recommend this school to anyone..

I am a 6th grader at westwood and I have to say I'm not quite impressed on my first year here , because we only have 3 minutes to change classes and most of mine and my friends classes are spread out along campus not to mention the fact that we have heavy binders and I have 3 of them beacquse the school won't let us have backpacks . This school also dose not have the best teachers because mine don't help students learn what they don't understand and say bad things.

This is a great school. I recommend it to every parent with a teenage middle schooling child. Westwood Middle has great hands-on activities to participate in classroom activity, pertner work and sportsmanship, once you go Warrior, you don't go back. Westwood is an average school in an average town. It's not outstanding, and it's not terrible. On a continuum of schools available, though, there are better ones in Winter Haven. I don't want to make it sound bad, because I know the teachers work hard, but the school has low self-esteem.
