Morris Brandon is a top notch school due to the extremely high parental involvement (70 assorted PTA committees), dedicated teachers who challenge and provide additional assistance to students when needed, and a surrounding community that actively supports the school (including business sponsorships). Test score results are very important and the school's culture is VERY ACHIEVEMENT driven. Students, teachers, administration, and parents know very well the high standards expected. In spite of the rigourous academic standards, it is also a nurturing and friendly environment. It surprises me how well the staff can remember everyone's name, siblings, etc. For a public school, you can't do any better!

Morris Brandon has often been called a private school in a public school building. The involvement of parents, teachers , PTA and the local community is the principal reason for this school's success. There is no magic formula. The building is full to bursting and the Atlanta Public School system is typically challenged, but it is the individual involvement of parents and high expectations for children which propel this fine school to exceptional results in all categories year after year. A quick check of Georgia CRCT scores and other standardized measures will reveal objective testimony to the performance of this elementary.

Morris Brandon staff is dedicated to the children ensuring that they reach their full potential. The school is surrounding by a housing community which speaks a lot about parent dedication to the success of the school. The afterschool programs are slim but the ones they do have are fulfilling and enriching to both parent and child. French is the second of choice for the school. Parent involvement will lets just say if the parents had to do an annual performance review the principal would not questions that across the board the parents should get a raise. You get suburban style commitment in a city environment. The best of both worlds at your door step. I am glad I moved to the school area to give my child the best education I can afford. Can I say the same to you? I challenge America to adapt this school ways for the children.
