We have multiple kids here and they all enjoy school and are receiving a uniquely excellent education. We have not had any bullying issues and it is my opinion that the educators are all focused 100% on providing the best possible learning environment for the students.

This school is so focused on the image of the "perfect" student, that it doesn't leave room for the majority of average students. The administration makes every effort to keep any students with learning differences or diversity out of the school. It is a very homogenous entitled community lacking any true representation of the real world. They are willing to spend thousands of dollars on technology, but forget hiring any additional teachers to help students that may develop a need for additional tutoring. Bullying has also been a problem recently with any kids that don't fit the mold of a perfect kid.

My middle school son attended for 1.5 years. Ultimately we withdrew him because he was emotionally bullied by a few key administrators and after-school staff. There are several fabulous faculty members who are student-centered; however, a few key adults hold power beyond what their functional title would imply. As parents, we could not support the myopic views they perpetrated. If you are even mildly liberal or support diversity of thought, this is NOT the school for your child or your family.

Mt. Vernon is an Awesome school. I am a sub at several private Christian Schools in the Atlanta area and Mt. Vernon is my favorite place to teach. I cannot say enough about the quality of students that attend and the teachers who teach. The leadership and vision of the school is right on target with Christian Values. They are the best well balanced private school in North Atlanta! Well worth the money for the excellent education and facilities that are provided to the students.

Mount Vernon is simply the best school in the area. We evaluated every independent school in the Buckhead, Brookhaven, Sandy Springs area - and we are simply thrilled with our choice. Our kids love going to school. The curriculum is challenging and innovative. Teachers are engaged, progressive and caring. This is a school on the move. I highly recommend Mount Vernon!

We love Mount Vernon Presbyterian school. We have been attending this school for 6 years and it just gets better every year. It is a warm, loving environment that is also academically challenging. Also, the school is innovative, and not stuck in old-school practices. The school community has a family feel, and the parent involvement is high.

The teachers are both caring and encouraging role models for their students. The academics are challenging and progressive, the atmosphere is one of a tight knit community which promotes both spiritual and academic growth in your child. All and all a great place for your child to attend school!

The teachers at MVPS are superb! They are dedicated to student learning and always go above and beyond. Wonderful opportunities for students to participate in a wide variety of "extras." A very family oriented school with lots of opportunities for parent involvement. Interim week for Upper School students is fantastic---travel experiences have been outstanding.

We moved our child from public school to MVPS last year. We have been so impressed with the school and staff. The teachers are so positive and really care for the students. The staff is extremely engaging and so supportive of each student and their personal growth. Our child is so much happier at MVPS than the previous school. The teaching model has been fantastic and really keeps the students engaged. We couldn't be happier with MVPS and feel so fortunate that our child attends such a dynamic school.

We could not be happier with our experience at Mount Vernon. We have two children in the School and have been more than pleased with the excellent teachers, great leadership, and family atmosphere. Mount Vernon is focused on delivering the best 21st century education and it plays out at every level. We see teachers dedicated to learning and striving to provide the most innovative classroom experiences. We see welcoming students, always eager to collaborate with each other. We see engaged parents, partnering with the School on many different levels. This is an exciting time for Mount Vernon. We are pleased with the forward-thinking leadership team and we are so happy our children are learning to be more than college ready. They are collaborators, communicators, ethical decision-makers, innovators, solution seekers, and creative thinkers.

The high school is more hype than reality. The current website and promo materials do not reflect reality. When we began, it promoted itself as a warm, cozy and caring place with small classes. It now promotes itself as a cutting edge innovative 21st century school. Unfortunately, it is not what it was nor what it wants to be. For example, the school promotes its Write Now program. While it is true that each week the kids write a short timed essay, the administration acts as if the students get feedback. This does not happen. The writing exercises are not a learning experience, but instead a way for poor writers to simply repeatedly fail. While there are some wonderful, innovative and creative teachers, the school also condones lazy, incompetent teachers who give computerized canned multiple choice quizzes & tests and few other assessments. This school has a great vision, but it has not put the building blocks in place to effectively execute that vision. MVPS currently suffers from significant growing pains. It may be a great school in the future. For now, I'd think carefully before I put my child in high school here. I wish we had made a different choice.

Fantastic school!!! We have had several children go through the school. Each of them loved it and they entered the colleges that they wanted. There have been many changes in the high school due to the growth (it's only 6 years old). Last spring was another one of these big changes where some faculty left voluntarily and involuntarily. Some people were not happy at that time (I see one reviewer commented on this). However, now seeing the school this year, those changes have resulted in an even better high school. The high school principal had to make some tough decisions but in the end, the school has taken a step upward.

The lower school is great, and has been so for 30+ years. The middle school is also very strong. The upper school (9-12) has struggled since its inception several years ago. Overall school leadership is weak, and has difficulty attracting and retaining both students and teachers. We have been parents here for over 10 years, and the current head of school simply will not listen to feedback. Too much vision, no execution...

A once and hopefully future excellent school to send your kids. The current Dean of Upper School Students is extremely harmful to the upper school students in his classroom, his religion seminar, his office and in the hallways of Mount Vernon. This Dean disrespects and bullies students, parents and fellow teachers. The Headmaster is either ignorant that this behavior is occurring or, worse, is condoning it. If a correction can occur in this key role soon, this school can return to greatness.

I have been a student at Mount Vernon for 4 years now. At first, I was very impressed. The teachers seemed very smart and they really care. The lower school's guidance counselor was AMAZING! In seventh grade, my class moved across the street to the Glenn Campus. The Glenn Campus is a nice, new campus. I started to notice how greedy, ungrateful, and rude the other students are in 7th grade. Eighth grade is my last year at Mvps. I decided it was time to leave after many episodes of theft, bullying, and my life was threatened by another MVPS student. After many meetings with the faculty and staff of mvps, they have yet to lift a finger about it. We pay this expensive tuition, and receive no help from the staff whatsoever. We might as well have gone to Sandy Springs Middle.

Mt. Vernon feels like family. The students and teachers are invested in one another's successes. The academics are excellent, the school spirit and pride are unparalleled in the Atlanta area and the kids and families are just plain nice...real people and real friendships. An amazing school for our children.

We have two children at MVPS - our son, Alex, started here in kindergarten and is now a senior and our daughter, Carson, started in the 3 yr old program and is now in 1st grade. We have incredible teachers and a very dedicated staff who go out of their way to help our children reach their goals and make them feel special.

Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
