relocating to Atlanta

I am relocating to Atlanta from India.
Son is in 10th std in India.
Can i get intermittent admission in 10th std in Atlanta in Public school in Sept 2012.

I agree with MagnetMom, who posted on August 5, 111mb111 is not aware of the many possiblities in Atlanta.

Hi Mumbalkar11,

You can get admission into public schools in September. Schools are typically zoned for where you live. If you relocating for a job, don't hesitate to talk to the human resources person at the company and ask to speak with someone with kids in high school.

Welcome to Atlanta! Unfortunately, public schools within Atlanta, especially at the high school level are atrocious. I'm sure they would, in no way, come close to meeting the standards of what you are used to in India. Just check out the stats. Your best bet is to go private, but, unfortunately, it is too late for this school year, but it never hurts to talk to the private schools anyway.
