How about this for an awards program: Put all the kids who are failing and had to have academic contracts signed by their parents, how about putting them all in a room and further humilate and emasculate them, by handing out goofy certificates of award for, the goofiest, the slowest, the most scared, the most annoying, etc. Let's not encourage them, but let's just kick them while they are down, let's make fun of them, and mock them to scorn. YES! this is what Henderson Middle School does for it's failing kids and call it fun!! What non-sense! Shame on all you teachers who participated in this behavior!!! What if this were you, or your kid!! I am ashamed of all of you!
You can put all your heart and soul in this school as a student and become involved as much as you can as a parent. You STILL will encounter teachers who don't care and some who do care. I agree with the other comments about teachers being overwhelmed and overcrowding of the school. I can't believe how unresponsive a lot of the teachers are. No wonder why the school ranking is low
Sometimes what you put into a school is what you get out of it. My child is a current Henderson student, and he is putting his heart and soul into everything he does there. He is having an incredible experience, and I applaud the teachers who inspire him. You know who you are- THANK YOU!
I agree with most of the postings here. The school has a lot of bullying going on. Certain teachers do not respond on important matters, or they are very hard to reach. The office staff (principal, counselor) do not seem to care about your child's safety. The teachers seem to be very overwhelmed, so don't be surprised if your child's hard work is missing and gets a zero grade! Just horrible! I will be moving to another county
bad school do not like it too much bullying do not like this school it is a poor school in atlanta
My son just started school here and I give his teacher, Ms. Paul 5 STARS...as for the office staff, they get -0 STARS for being rude and not following through with paperwork. Everytime I have had to deal with the office staff at Hendersen, I get attitude. So far the Spec. Ed Dept. is great. My son loves his class and other assigned activities.
Overall it OK.Its not that great due to the amount of bullying and i have had a lot of experiences of teachers being too strict. For example, there was this very rebellious kid in my class that my teacher constantly told to leave the class. Obviously he wouldn't so an argument dragged out and my teacher eventually had to get physical. I had another problem when a teacher of mine was not correctly checking her work when grading my work. My grade suffered badly because of that. Eventually my parents had to get involved. overall its an OK school, but i wouldn't recommend it.
This really cares about their students. Henderson has impact my child's education. Thank you Henderson. Support
I love Henderson Middle School because the teachers are great and care about our kids.
The overall school is alright but some of the teachers are very strict and we don't get as much fun things to do as other schools. For example we only get one pep rally a year. Also if you have seventh period with a mean teacher, and people are talking, she'll keep everyone after you have been dismissed. Other than those things the school is alright.(Most of the time)
