My child is new at Coker and I feel that he would be adjusting better if there were more one on one contact.

All three of my children are former students of Coker elementary. I have the highest commendation for Coker's faculty. The majority of my children's teachers always took a personal interest in my children. They taught them the value of education and to strive to do there very best. They were also always available to give emotional support which was so important growing up in a single parent family. I highly reccomend Coker to anyone that has children that will be attending elementary school in Murray County. The positive impact these teachers have on our children affects them for the rest of their lives!

My son attended Coker grades k-5 and all I can do is give the school high marks. They kept us well informed of his progress. Excellent after school care and Summer care program for working parents. Fees charged for the care programs are a real bargain and they always had enough adults/teachers on hand to insure they maintained a sense of order at all times. Provided breakfast as well as lunch. They have a science fair each year that is very educational as well as fun for the entire family. Conducted a couple of book fairs each year. I was very impressed with a mentoring program our son and at least my husband or I attended through one year. We met several evenings that year. The program involved teaching leadership as well as how to be good citizens. These children were then given the responsibility of being mentors to the younger children several times by conducting puppet shows for them. The characters dealt with real life situations. I would love to share much more but it would be too long to list. The time we were at this school was definately wonderful.
