I currenty attend this school and i am transfering to a different school in a couple months, do NOT go there unless you want to be miserable, the school is terrible and boring and it was also meant to be a middle school so its very small so you wont even feel like your in high school.
Eastside is a terrible school. I'm currently a student there and I don't even feel like I'm in high school. It's way too small and overcrowded. The lockers are extremely small for the book we have. The teachers are pretty good. The best thing about this school is the block schedule and they are changing that next year. I wouldn't not recommend this school to anyone that wants a real high school experience.
It's a great school with excellent teachers and faculty. My daughter loves it!
My child was in private school and was not doing well. We moved him to EHS where he is doing much better. I have had no problems as of yet. As a matter of fact my other child was in private school as well - making all A's - she will be going to EHS as a freshman. She wanted to experiance a larger school atmospher. I have been surprised what a great school EHS is. Not what I expected - everyone has been so helpful. We look forward to another great year at EHS. The staff is wonderful - the only area of improvment would be the class sizes - seems to be a little over crowded.
Eastside is a great school and I would recomend it to anyone trying to find a school for their children. Great staff and administration also.
My child use to attend Eastside and he still has many friends still there. Thankfully, we could afford to send him to a private school for better academics. He was barely passing at Eastside and now has an outstanding GPA and SAT score. We thought he may have a learning disability that did not show up until ninth grade, however, he was just bored. The students are correct - the teachers (as a whole) do not seem to have a positive attitude about teaching there(lots of administrator/teacher conflicts) and it reflects in their abilities in the classroom. In their defense, I think it is hard to teach children that do not feel they are respected. And the adminstration at Eastside does not seem to respect students or give them the benefit of the doubt. As a result, students are dropping out quite frequently.
Eastside has a great principal and administration. Dr. Daria has really stepped up and fulfilled the duties of his position. I wish there were less behavioral problems, though, among the students.
Everyone says eastside is a good school. i actually think taht is horribly.... Horribly good!!! Keep up the good work!!! also the traffic does not bother me as much as it does others
Great Teachers, Good leadership from the principal and his assistants.
I am a senior at eastside and have attended for 3 yrs. Eastside has many problems. For one it is extremely overcrowded. We get 8 min. To get to class and believe me you need it. Secondly, the schools administration is too distracted by small things like enforcing dress codes rather than students poor behavior. By poor behavior i mean... Students are savagely picked on, there is excessive cussing, and ignorant and sexual comments/behavior. Many teachers also share personal information about thier lives outside of school and have a lackadasical attitude towards teaching. This ranges from showing movies to assigning work all the time while they do nothing. Traffic is also a huge problem. It takes 20 min just to leave the school. Finally many departments are underfunded. For instance all you can play in gym is ping pong or basketball everyday because that is all the have.
