My son is graduating from Mashburn this year while my daughter graduated in 2012. For the most part, we had a good experience with all the teachers. They all are very dedicated and care for their students' character and educational progress. In the end, that is what should be considered when choosing a school. Unfortunately, Mashburn's reputation is tied to its CRCT scores as that is what gives the school it's 'ranking'. On that basis, Mashburn has been sliding over the years for whatever reason. So, if you want a school that cares about its students, Mashburn is a great school. But if you want to say you are sending your kids to an 'elite' school, then Daves Creek or Big Creek will fit that bill better. I personally think a child makes a school elite and not the other way around. I rather get value for my money when buying a home (instead of forking $100-150KK above fair value) and enjoy the beautiful lake scenery and nature than get too tied up in the 'ranking' system. Teach your kids the value of education and it will not matter if they went to a 9 star school or 10 star elementary school to become successful in life.

I love this school! My son has special needs and they've gone above and beyond to not only help him feel "included" but also to meet him where he's at socially, academically and emotionally.

We have three kids that go here. My daughter is so sad to go to middle school because she loves Mashburn. Mashburn is AWESOME and I feel blessed that she was a part of this school from K-5...all I can say.

Love Mashburn! The school is small enough to still have a family-like atmosphere while providing excellent teachers and academic programs.

As a former elementary school teacher myself, I am very pleased with the quality of the staff and instruction at Mashburn. The atmosphere between staff and students is wonderful, and parents are welcomed to be as involved as they wish. The 'small town' atmosphere and smaller school size at Mashburn were an unexpected and wonderful surprise. Great academics, great teachers, great kids. You'll love this school!

What a wonderful school! The teachers are so dedicated and my children absolutly love and take pride in Mashburn. Mr.Pirkle and Mrs. Braswel are great leaders and truly support our teachers. This year we are extra proud of our GA School of Excellence status!
