I have been student teaching at LCMS since the beginning of January. I have had such a wonderful experience. I fell in love with all my students the first day I met them, and I will be really sad to leave at the end of the semester. The teachers are all warm and welcoming and eager to help and share experiences. My mentor teacher was absolutely fantastic and extremely helpful.
I am an active LCMS student, athlete, and band member. Though my schedule is extremely cramped, I am still an A student thanks to the dedication of my teachers. They are genuinely friendly to us and our parents, and our school sort of has a small-town feel to it. The staff and students in the school are friendlier than anywhere in north Georgia. The teachers have the GPS standards we must meet in full view for us, and teach us what we need to know for the CRCT. They don't waste their time on topics that we won't be tested on, which may be why LCMS is viewed as having 'substandard education'. All in all, this is a wonderful school that deserves 5 stars.
Teachers and faculty are pleasant around parents, not so pleasant in the classroom. Substandard education. Sex education is extraodinarily inferior. Extracurricular activities practically nonexistant, and if you are involved in the few they have, it takes precedence over education.
I think LCMS is a great school. My child has done extremely well in all her classes and I believe it is due to the wonderful teachers.
I have never observed such a hard-working group of teachers in any public school. They are truly dedicated to improving the lives of their students through providing as many educational opportunities as possible.
This is a great school that cares about the kids, they are more into sports than other after school programs, but that is because the parents and kids in the area are more into sports than other activites. They are meeting the desires of the students that attend the school.
Sports and cheerleading are more important than a good solid education.
The quality of academic programs is fairly low. The school emphasizes fitness, sports, and other extracurricular activities over academics. Also, there are very few after school activities other than soccer, track, football, and softball. Children are usually not told about when the non-sport groups start, and cannot join late.
