Our grandson has been at MVES since first grade and will be in the fifth grade this next year....a senior. This has been a great experience for him. As in any school there will always be a bully, the situation that involved our grandson was quickly taken care. The teachers are amazing and care for the students. The principal is awesome and works hard for everyone. From the Principal to the janitor, this school rates a five star and we are anxious to be threr for our grandson's graduating class.

I had one child here K-5 and I have my second child now getting ready to enter 3rd grade so I have 7 years of working with this school and I have no complaints whatsoever. I am NOT a "highclass" parent and both of my children have had positive experiences with this school. ALL of our teachers have been amazing and helpful and seemed excited to be there. I've only met the principal and couple of times but she seems fine. I hope that this becomming a charter school will only help and not harm what Mt Vernon is. I look froward to seeing what the future hold for us here at this precious school!

My son had his first year in Elementary School here and we couldn't be more pleased. The teacher's here seem to love their jobs and are truely dedicated to helping these kids learn.

I went to this school the first year it opened. Now my child is a student here. Over all it is average, my child has had issues with a bully several times. The school does tend to give its all to the 'higher class' students and tends to let others to struggle. I would like to see more effort put in to keep things equal among all students. If your child lacks self esteam do not even consider this school.

We started at Mount Vernon Last year. I was excited when I saw that the teacher's would spend so much one on one time with the students. My son's teacher could tell me things about him that I didn't know. Wow! The principal, the students are awesome, and I totally agree with the manners issue. That is something that is very important to me and I have found some terrific kids with great ethics throughout the entire school. You cannot be disappointed here!

Before moving to Gainesville in August 2004, we were unaware of the true quality in which lies in the Hall County School System. We moved from Savannah where our daughter was in a private school and wanted to have the same style learning environment for her after the move. We utilized this website to narrow down our search for a school district to purchase our home. We found out really quickly what a great choice we made. After two months in this great public school, our daughter was ahead of her previous classroom work in Savannah. We have been thrilled with the amount of parental involvement and the 'family' environment created. The children are learning more than school work. They are learning moral values such as manners and it is evident of this walking down the hall. The environment is open and inviting. We love it and will never change!

I worked for the Hall County YMCA After-School Program at Mt. Vernon. I was very impressed with administration, teachers, and the custodian staff. The students seemed to always being smiling in the hall and that says a lot about a school. Many different extra curricular programs were also offered to the students. I have only heard great things about Mt. Vernon from the parents. I would recommend this school completely.

I went to this school and I loved this school. the teachers really cared and helped me through out the years that I went to Mount Vernon. In 3rd Grade I found out that I had ADD if it wasn't for this school I would never be where I'm at now!
