This school is phenomenal! The teachers care, the principal knows each child and whats going on in the school, and they love school events. Just to keep it real - school has all about state testing, thats where schools get there funding these days. This school serious about preparing the kids for those test and finding out they learn best. Ya can't get around it, all public school focus on testing. My son excelled at this school for the first time ever, because they teacher went above and beyond to teach "HIM" instead of a class of 20(+). As a result he did very well on testing and had a lot of fun learning!
Congratulations to the principal on being selected as Georgia's National Distinguished Principal of the Year!!!
My child attended this school one year too long. The ONLY thing TCE cares about is state testing. Forget caring about and truly developing the children. And the principal is totally useless in responding adequately to parent concerns. I am so glad that my child will not be subjected to this school another year. Completely sub par!
Taylor's Creek was a disappointment. Many of the teachers have their children enrolled at the school and in the same class. I think this is a definite conflict of interest and favoritism was obvious. My child definitely felt discriminated against. The discipline was way too severe. The CRCT testing seemed to be the top priority leaving no room for any creativity. Parents are not encouraged to get involved. No PTA.
Great School! Staff and teachers are responsible and they REALLY care for the kids! We are gonna miss this school so much!l
I don't see why all the great ratings & reviews, even the distinguished title 1 school award was given to this school. My child only attended 1 yr & it was long enough, he was behind from his previous school & this was explained to his teachers at TCE at the beginning of the school year, yet nothing was ever done to help my child out. I find some of the teachers a bit lazy. Maybe it was my childs grade level, but from all his teachers the 2 most essential subjects (math & language arts) i felt they were very much lacking in teaching experience. Sometimes it felt like all they cared to teach about was what ever was on the CTRCT tests so the students would pass the tests rather than teach what is really important. My son did attend Waldo Pafford which is also a title ! school & much much better than TCE.
We miss Taylors Creek! My daughter went there for Kindergarten, but toward the end of the year, we got orders elsewhere, and as if it weren't obvious enough before, the public schools at our new post have shown us just how good we had it at TCE. My daughter has learning disabilities and a speech delay, and was in the IEP class, which we thought was outstanding. She was really succeeding there, and we were thrilled with the quality of instruction. Our family was treated great on the whole. We were happy at TCE. At our new post, in order to get a comparable quality of instruction to what we got for free at TCE, we have to pay for it at private school. TCE is a gem. If we ever got stationed back at Stewart, we'd send our kids there, no question.
That last comment is totally ridiculous! Those classes are EIP classes where struggling students receive small group instruction (11 students) and extra help from teachers in reading and math. That is the law; schools have to have EIP, it is a federal program. My experience with TCE has been terrific! Teachers really care about the students and go way beyond what is expected to help students who are struggling. This is one of the best schools I've been to.
If your only concern is test scores, TCE is a great school. If you have a child who needs a little extra attention, TCE may not be the place to send them. They don't seem to be equipped for children who may have some special needs but who don't belong in Special Ed. So, their solution is to dump them all in one class segregating them from their so-called 'normal' peers... just like the kids in Special Ed.
I love Taylors Creek Elementary School because the staff, students, and parents will do whatever it takes to help students be successful. The staff really care about the kids and love teaching and learning. Tce believes in students, families, and teamwork. TCE has excellent teachers, smart students, and supportive parents. It's the spirit of family, hard work, dedication, and their focus on student learning that make them the greatest school in the world.
TCE is a wonderful school whose CRCT scores speak for themselves. The teachers are dedicated, and the administration is involved and supportive. I have taught elsewhere in the county, but this school is doesn't even compare. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
This IS a 'great school'! The teachers really care about kids. My children have had a terrific experience at this school.
This is a wonderful place to teach and learn. The teachers I work with are the everyday heros. They come to work each day with a committment to excellence and a desire to make a difference for each child. It is a community of learners. The administration has created a terrific vision: Dream! Believe! Give! Expect! 100% That just about says it all.
TCE is a phenomenal school. Teachers and administration really care about the kids. I am military and have been stationed in a lot of places. This is the best.
This is a great school. The teachers are all about excellence. The curriculum is really emphasized. My kids are learning a lot.
I recently went to this school for my 4th grade year. But now that I am a gifted student I attend a differnt school. it really is a great school. I recomend it to anybody. Everyone is friendly and your child will have many friends.
My son has attended Taylors Creek Elementary for two years and I am a parent member of the school council there. The curriculum is terrific, the teachers are outstanding and give personal, after-school time to their students, and the principal is extremely involved in the entire process of learning. The school has developed a program strictly devoted to increasing parent involvement in the school. The test scores in this school have steadily climbed each year - with this year being no exception. Overall, this is a terrific school and I would recommend it to anyone coming to the area.
We are a military family and I had heard so many bad things about Georgia public schools that I was so afraid to send my children and ruin their education. I wanted to send them to private school however it was just too expensive. Taylors creek has turned out to be a wonderful school. I have been so pleased with this school that we have refused orders in order to keep my children here through the most important years academically. They have many of the advanced technologies in all classrooms it's amazing. Parent communication and involvement is encouraged and I have never had a problem addressing a teacher with an issue. I would highly recommend this school to anyone in the area (but our spot is taken for two more years).I do think the last quarter of school is not very productive but I have not spoke to anybody about that.
I just read in the paper that Taylors Creek was awarded the Silver Award because the students scored in the top 4% of Georgia's schools. This does not happen without superb leadership. Way to go Taylors Creek!
