Just moved to the area and have been very disappointed so far. Have had to send records multiple times, the school seems disorganized and offers absolutely nothing to help new students acclimate. The Meet and Greet felt cold, like the teachers did not even want to be there, and the principal stood formally in the hallway and appeared to have no connection or rapport with students, parents or faculty. I am hoping to warm up to the school, but so far this has been an awful welcome.

Lost Mountain has some phenominial teachers like the 6th and 7th grade AC Social Studies teachers. Also the AC math teachers for all grades are excellent. Unfortunately there are no free gifts and this school comes with a price. The music programs and some of the AC classes are outstanding, but some of the teachers don't care. They either yell, or dump a ton of homework on you that you have to stay up till 11:00-12:00 at night doing. We recently got a new principal and all I see her doing is violating the dress code she enforced or is no where to be found. This school needs some work, but all in all this school is pretty nice.

I am a 7th grader in Lost Mountain and the only thing that I look forward to is Band! The band teachers know how to tell a joke but relate it to band!! Also the AC social studies teacher for 7th grade is awesome too! It is almost the 2nd semester and 1 of my teachers doesn't even know my name! I'm shy but not that shy! Also there is only 2 teachers that I actually like, the other 2 are terrible! They scream at people all the time because they are so unwell behaved! A LOT of people have already had ISS or silent lunch. Even detention. So there is a lot of distractions during class periods. It can be very annoying and sometimes I wish I went to some other school..... BAND GEEK!

Lost Mountain Middle School has some very dedicated teachers but there are a few who do seem to lack the patience and understanding to work with middle school children. Would like to see more energetic/enthusiastic teachers.

I have been a teacher at Lost Mountain for 7 years. Many teachers have been here for as long or longer. The fact that teachers stay is a testament to the superiority of the school. The special education department is phenomenal and many teachers have Master's and Specialists degrees. If you're privileged to attend this school, you won't be let down!

I believe that Lost Mountain Middle School has been overrated. The music program is excellent, but that's about it. Each year LMMS assures parents that their kids will have fun, have great experiences, learn alot, etc., but judging from the two years that I've been a student here and what others have claimed, these statements are rarely accurate. There's alot of fighting, drama and bullying that teachers don't pay attention to. Many students slack off from school work and refuse to behave decently because they know they will get away with it. Kids who struggle to listen and behave get in trouble instead of getting help. Teachers and administrators ignore most students' complaints, such as environmental filthiness, bullying, and more. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Lost Mountain Middle to families that are very concerned about their children's discipline. However, this is solely my opinion, and many people disagree.

I am a 7th grder at lost mountain middle I do not like it! Some teachers sit on their chair all day and just give out work. Some blame stuff on you for stuff you didnt do. And very few are good. Bathrooms are absolutely filthy! The teachers told are parents that they try to make are classes fun when they are extremely BORING! Some teachers care, and some just are careless. I would most definetly recomend Lovingood or McClure middle school.

I have 2 children attending this school and I must admit it has been an EXCELLENT experience. The teachers are caring and communicate well. There are many extracurrricular activities, and the academia is very competitive. The Band/Arts program is outstanding. I have truly sacrificed to be in this area, and it has truly paid off.

lost mountain is a great school, even though some teachers are very lacking. Im in all AC classes and it is very challenging and you defintly need to work for your 'A' in those classes. Even though sometimes i hate it, i know my academic future looks great.=] Alot of the kids are nice there and its very easy to fit in . Work hard, and you will survive.

My two children attend Lost Mountain. We have had a great middle school experience so far. They have been challenged academically and enjoy the wonderful music programs and student government. I have found the faculty and administration to be helpful and caring.

This is one of the premier secondary schools in Georgia. They are under a new administration(about to begin their second year) and they have excellent teachers. Sports are available through the High School(s): Harrison, Hillgrove,Mceachern. At Lost Mountain there can be little parent involvement or a lot parent involvement, you decide. I am having an amazing time so far and is looking forward into another school year at Lost Mountain Middle School.

The quality of faculty at Lost Mountain is a bit uneven since some transferred to the new McClure Middle. Some teachers are outstanding, including the Georgia Middle School Teacher Of The Year. Some are just so-so. The band and art programs are absolutely astounding, and the parents are very involved with outreach programs and field trips, etc. The principal is new this year and has a new vision for Lost Mountain and it's hard to evaluate his success yet. The honors program seems to have been watered down a bit, which is a shame since so many gifted children attend this school.

The teachers and adminstrators that I have encountered at this school seem apathetic and unresponsive to both students and parents, i.e. will not return phone calls or e-mails, 'lose' homework and tests and in general just don't seem to care.

No sports at this school. Music dept. is good. School is too crowded--teachers don't know who your child is. Academics are weak compared with other states.

I am a former student of Lost Mountain and I just wanted to say that I loved this school! I had some of the absolute best teachers who truly loved their jobs and really wanted to reach out to the students. I still visit my former teachers, and I was more than prepared for high school when I left.
