Best school some teacher are nice i loved being here for 6 and 7 grade
Okay, there are some bad comments and some good comments. I think I am about to go to this school to start my 6th grade year. So I am really worried. Is it a good school or a bad school???
First year here. Not great communication - if you are not able to be involved at the school like the stay at home moms are (i.e. PTA moms), you are totally lost in classroom opportunities and extracurricular activities - so your child is too. Some teachers good, others okay, Administration fulfills obligations but not always in happy fashion. In my book, just okay. Thinking about going to private school. Disappointed.
The parents and kids at Creekland are responsible and understand that the kids are our future.
I went to Creekland all three years of middle school. I enjoyed it at the time, but the school was definitely flawed. There were a lot of problems with a few students doing something wrong but the whole class being punished. I distinctly remember the entire 8th grade class being taken into the gym and lectured for being 'the worst class to come through Creekland'. However, there are also several good things about Creekland. The gifted program is good - my 7th grade science teacher was by far the best teacher I've ever had - and the fine arts program is good too. There's a good selection of clubs and activities. Creekland has two basketball teams (boys and girls) as well as a cheerleading team and step team, but unfortunately these are only open to 8th graders. Overall, a good experience, but there were definitely some issues with Creekland.
I went here all 3 years and I loved it! I was in the advanced placement classes and I loved all the hands-on experiments we did. I love Creekland, its a beautiful school.
It is an amazing school. I am a 7th grader and I am having a good time there. If you want t=a safe and helpful enviroment Creekland is the best option.
This is our 2nd year at Creekland and I have no complaints. My daughter loves it. I was a bit concerned with the number of students enrolled, but Creekland is very organized and I would recommend it to anyone.
Honestly I'm still at creekland and it is a great school. There are many clubs to express myself through and the staff is nice. I don't know why other people think it is bad, as it s a great experience for us all. (of course im in PROBE [the gifted program] so it may be different for me)
School is very orderly and the children have the opportunity to participate in a variety of programs. As gangs become more prevalent in the county, the school needs to be vigilant about prevention programs.
My daughter really enjoys going to school everyday and we have just had a wonderful experience!
Creekland was awesome. I did not have any communication problems with Teacher's or other Faculty. The Nurses were awesome. And trust me that was a major concern for us when it came to my son.
I love creekland! it is the best middle school i have gone to. We even get time for a connection that is gym, chorus, Exploring Tech. and more! it has amazing curriculum to! creekland is the best and i dont see where the other bad comments come from, i have never had a dislike about creekland
We are new to the school, however Creekland Middle School seems to be very organized especially given the extreme size and population of the school. Having come from a New Hampshire school, I am disappointed to see my child 'reviewing' the entire past years curriculum in his present school year. The school seems to be (academically) a little behind other parts of the country. I am sure this is not a direct result of the school, but of the county and state in general. There is an extensive list of clubs to join and one should be able to find a 'niche' quickly. The school is large and as a result can offer a variety of classes. For the most part, we are happy with the school. The teacher/parent communication is very good in this school and they are willing to work with students to get them on track.
So far, I think this school is pretty good. I do not like however, that middle schoolers do not have a recess period. Yes there is PE, but with kids this age, they need some sort of 30 minute outside time to release some of that pinned up energy. I have substituted at several schools and see the need for this sort of activity.
Our experience at Creekland was a three year nightmare. Teachers would promise to e-mail assignments and grades but never do it. Administration adviced us against an eval. for an IEP saying it would put a label on our child. (He has ADD)I have three children, 2 have graduated, we were a military family so my children have attended several schools across the country. Creekland was the worst. If you have a child that needs any additional help don't expect it from Creekland.
The staffs are great! The teachers are very careing. The school is big and beautiful. They have a great system of keeping kids in different communities for every grade level because the school is so big! There's so many different activities for kids to join. The school is located in a nice, quiet, and peaceful neighborhood. Great teachers, you can email to every teachers to check the progress of your child. Kids can get help for homework on line thru the schools' website. It's one of my favorite middle school so far.
We love the school, i was afraid at the begining of the school year ,but the teachers and the principal provide me wrong. The teachers are very friendly ,knowledgeable and helpful , it is very safe for our kids, thank you for your hard work . God Bless all of you.
For being one of the largest middle schools in the United States (!) I have found Creekland to be well run, discipline is handled well, and they make it obvious that they care about the students. As a parent of 3, I have been very involved with the school and have been very pleased with what I have seen. We have never had a problem with communication from the adminstration or teachers. Compared to other middle schools in our County, Creekland is by far the finest, despite its size! Parental involvement is encouraged, communication is above adequate, and student activities are encouraged. The Fine Arts programs are important and students are supported. Thank you to all the caring faculty at Creekland.
Creekland has been a very big disapointment. I have found the majority of teachers and administrators to be very uncaring and uninvolved. The principal does not even accept parent phone calls and will not get involved in issues between parents and teachers. As the person ultimately responsible for the staff, I find this unacceptable. When a teacher was disrespectful to my child and then to me when I asked about the situation, no administrator would respond to my emails or phone calls. As a teacher myself at another Gwinnett County school, I know first hand what a partnership teachers/administrators and parents should and could have. I am very disappointed in the education my children receive at Creekland. If I were moving into the area now, I would move into another Middle school district.
