If you are aout education then do not send your child here. It was horrible experience for my child. As a interactive parent in my childs education I was amazed of the lack of educating, teacher involvement, insultive to the students things that I witnessed and was told about. Her teacher should have been behind a desk pushing paper and not molding minds. We were a part of the City of Decatur schools and when we went there it was like going from a school to a correctional facility. Needless to say we moved back to the COD school district. When my daughter started back she was 2 letter grades behind, and with hard work she has caught up to level, and soon to exceed in CRCT she has been off my a narrow margin. But the new school has gotten her to that point. She learned nothing at Farrington.

I don't know where or how the ratio of 13 students per FTE teacher evolved, but my son is in a class of 27. That's too many students for one teacher in my book.

I love this school. My children have excelled under Dr. Warren and her staff.

Fairington is a school that needs more flexibility given to the teachers, they need to be able to teach out of the box, using different types of instructional styles, realizing that some students are audio, some are visual and some are hands on learners , teachers need to be able to reinforce lessons with one of the other teaching methods when the class does not understand the subject matter at first quiz of any subject area.

Fairington Elementary is moving from good to great! With a new principal and PTA, I am confident that the school will approve as each day progresses. There have already been many changes that are visible within the school.
