We relocated from out of state nearly two years ago. We completed a great deal of research on schools prior to purchasing our first home. YES had exceeded my expectations as a parent. Hands down this has been the best school my children have gone to!
The high ratings below need some balance. YES for Youth? NO!!! Unless you grew up here or enjoy small minded politics, move to a different area of Loganville. The parents were uninvolved, the PTO was a nightmare of wanna be high society women, and the principals were clueless and could care less about community or individual student needs. Everyone was out for themselves here. The staff seemed exhausted and unfriendly, with the exception of one or two teachers, who should go work elsewhere. At Youth our favorite part of the day was 3:20 (time to go home).
Great school! Teachers are wonderful. Lunch staff very nice. Most of the front office staff are great. One lady not to friendly to see or talk to. She never smiles and seems very unhappy. Media Center staff are friendly and helpful. All in all we are very happy with YES.
I have 2 kids at this school 1 in 4th and 1 in 1st, and another child starting k next year. So we have been here 5 years now ! This school is just great.. I am very happy with all the staff, the teachers are great! both girls are in focus and they offer a great girfted program.. I just can't say enough.. it's realy hard to find a school this GREAT in GA.
The Teachers are awsome. Everyone has a positive attitude. The teachers and staff are caring and pay close attention to the students and their needs.
This is a school that is a step above the rest. The staff are loving and always there to help. The teachers are some of the best in the state. They run the school in an orderly manner with possitive effect on the students. As you can tell by our wonderful test scores. Thank You to the staff of excelence, at Youth Elementary!
This was the absolute best school in which I ever taught! The teachers were fabulous, the parents super, and the students wonderful. Teachers were supplied with every conceivable material we needed to educate our students effectively. Parents were very involved and supportive. Teachers enjoyed a great comraderie and collaborative effort. I cried when I had to move out of state, and have sincerely missed YES; no other school compares!
I was reding some reviews that I feel have inaccurate feedback. YES does have an acdemic awards night. Also, my child is in first grade and has been on two field trips already this year. I think that the few negative reviews make generalizations based on 1 teacher. We all know that every teacher will not match up with every student. Hang in there though. Youth has plenty of good ones.
I would like to know the children are getting to go on field trips and exspand the ways of learning. Unfortunatly at YES the children rarely get to exsperience such as that! EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES IS not offered here as they are at many other schools.
The school in general is great BUT there's no recognition of achievements made by the students. No honors day awards or anything like that. Field trips and exciting activities geared toward the children do not exist. They should have somthing to look forward to other than Bingo nights.
