My first child's teacher is wonderful, very structured, and maintains control of their class. My other child's teacher has absolutely no control over her class as I have witnessed first hand after being snapped at one afternoon when picking up my child. I was simply asking what had asked what justified denying participation in an event I had taken time off work to attend. The principal said she was a friend of that teacher then illegally (wink wink) recommended that we take our child to get him medicated for ADD - that the principal herself is medicated for it etc... After multiple bullying incidents that followed in the poor teachers class, my child was suspended repeatedly for sticking up for himself when attacked. We took our child to a doctor who said absolutely no ADD, that the problem is with his environment in the class. The school is refusing to allow us to change his class claiming capacity issues. We are doing everything we can to get our children out of this school - even if we have to sell our home and move a few blocks to another school zone this summer.

MES is a great school. The school has made great academic gains over the past few years. Staff, students and parents all work together to create a great environment for everyone. The principal is extremely passionate about all the children. She has their best interest at heart as do all the staff. Everyone works together to make the student their first priority. Learning is fun at MES!

This is our third year at MES and we have been nothing but pleased. The principal and staff express a genuine interest in the well being of each and every student which is hard to find at any school these days. The parent involvement is outstanding and continues to grow. MES has a great future ahead and we're excited to be a part of it.

I attended this school from kindergarten all the way to fifth grade. I am in sixth grade now. Overall I feel as though this school was okay. My third grade teacher was awesome so was my fifth grade teacher. I miss this school now that I am in the sixth grade. The principal was nice and fun, and I loved her. I have nothing but good things to say about this school, except I would reccomend that some teachers watch what they do and SAY especially. Kids come back and tell their parents everything. That's all I am going to say for now.

I have been very dissatisfied with the lack of student support at Mableton. My son has been there for 3 years, and 2 of his teachers have seemed very "tired" and unmotivated to think outside the box when it comes to educating students who need a little extra help. The principal is unaccessible, and her correspondence with me has been consistently poor. While I recognize a greatschool.com score of 7 out of 10 as better than average, I am also disappointed that the administrators at the school do not see that there is still a long road ahead of becoming a truly great school on the same level as the top elementary schools in our state. Accepting our score as simply "better than other schools in our area" is not the motivational attitude I expect from my child's educators. I hope parents will hold these educators accountable to the highest degree.

My son is in second grade and this is his first year at Mableton. Overall I like the school and his teacher. I had to reach out to her when I notice he was having problems with math. Every since, she has been directly contacting me whenever an issue surface. I would like to see more homework and extracurricular activites for the lst and 2nd graders.

We have been very happy with MES. I only wish more schools in the county offered foreign language.
