ELCA is one of those schools that you do not want too many people to be aware of but here I go anyway. My 12 old daughter transferred from from a middle school in the North Fulton area. She made an easy transition socially and academically however she was disappointed that ELCA did not offer Lacrosse. We were also saddend not to see many minority teachers as we are of Asian heritage. Guess it is hard to find Christian Indians and Koreans? We are please because her Stanford scores continue to climb into the 90s so this is a reflection of the higher academic standards. Overall we are satisfied.

This is an outstanding school. Christ is really displayed in all areas. My daughter was in k-5 and scored 98% in reading and 90% in math on her Standford 10 Achievement Test. The school also invest tuition dollars in their program. All monies are visual. It can be seen around campus. Hey......Lets not forget about the teachers, GREAT. Parents can defintely go to work in peace.......

My child was accepted into the school and then had to be withdrawn because the teacher was insistent that she was too "active" and did not fit her mold of how a kindergartner should be. My child was very polite and got along well with other kids. My child transferred the second half of the year at this school and was only in school there nine days and after constant negative feedback from teacher about her being too talkative, we decided to withdraw her. This school has large class size for a private school and they expect students to be like robots and not move unless they say so. My child has never been in discipline trouble and was ahead of the students academically when she transferred there. When we came up to withdraw her, they had the paperwork and her supplies waiting at the front as if we were just a number after we paid over 1400 dollars to get her started. The school seems great from the outside, but everything that glitters is not gold.

My kids attended ELCA for over 5 years, they loved the environment socially . We put them in public school because I could not see making the investment or sacrifice pass the middle or high school. The math department is in need of a lot of work. A large percentage of the kids in my child's 8th grade class room had to pay for tutoring. These kids were tutored by ELCA teachers (supplementing the income of the teachers). Which should be a conflict of interest, but I guess not. If you are considering this school do your home work .

I had 3 children in ELCA for 4 years, it was a great school for their social development & I thought it was in academics as well...but when we moved and I enrolled them in Public Sch...they all were so far behind in math & reading. As of today, it is still a struggle for them, especially Math because when we left ELCA & enrolled them in the other school- they were so far ahead...my kids had to catch up really fast or fail... which is really difficult because math is built upon principles. It was a real struggle for my Middle scher & we had to put her in outside tutorials. If you are looking for a loving Christian environment & safe haven for your kid, it will be a good choice. Just make sure you supplement the core subj so they will be able to pass GA standardize testing.

Great school. My kids were in ELCA for seven years before we moved out of town. The education was excellent. The Christian environment was recognizable. The passion to impact the student's life and education is clear. Thanks.

If you are looking for a better social environment than public schools, you'll be happy here. If you are looking for high quality education, keep looking.

As parents of a mixed race daughter we were concerned about sending her to what appeared at first to be an all white southern baptist school. There are a few prominant private Christians schools in the area that are not very diverse (all black or white) and therefore not serving their students well in this age. We were pleased to find out that ELCA is racially diverse and more importantly that the curriculum was academically stimulating. We have been pleased thus far as our son is gifted in many areas and yet still challenged. I am particularly pleased that the elementary math program is changing from Abeeka to be more competitive.

The teachers truly care, but some of the administration and counslers are overmatched and/or overworked which which severly affects their performance. The activites at ELCA are nearly on par with public schools, but the enviroment is superior. Along with most private schools the price has dramatically risen the last few years.

We have kids in middle and high school. While we feel this is a MUCH better alternative than public schools the academics are not up to par. The curriculum is not hard enough to prepare for college. This school will start to lose students to other new private schools that are appearing South of town. Also need more AP course - very limited. You know ther eis a problem when your kids complain they aren't challenged.

My children are in middle school and high school at ELCA. They have both been here since K-4. My husband and I could not be happier. He is a public school teacher and he sees the importance of putting our children in a christian environment that offers excellence in academics and sports. I would highly recomment ELCA to any parent. The students leave ELCA as well-rounded individuals prepared for any role they decide to take on in life.

Our kids were in ELCA since they were in pre-K. We moved last year to the Northside and put our kids in another private school. We were very surprised that both of our children were way behind the other children (our children were on honor role at ELCA). It has taken us lots of time and tutoring to get them up to speed with the other students.

This is our 5th year at ELCA and it has been a Blessing. We have 2 kids there and both are doing great!! We are confident that they will be prepared for college when that time arrives.

We are finishing our second year at ELCA and we are very happy. I have been involved in Christian education for over 30 years and the ELCA leadership is the best, by far. The tuition costs are reasonable for the quality of the programs and facilities. I would recommend ELCA to anyone looking for a Christian alternative to public schools.

Overall a great school. We are in elementary, so middle and high are yet to come. Very structured learning environment with little room for flexibility.

ELCA is a good School. However, The leadership is weak. They do not seem to care about discipline problems. It also is clear that the leadership of ELCA will cause the school to lose children to a more academic focused schools that are showing up in the area.

ELCA is a great school that continues to grow and improve each year. We couldn't be happier! My children are thriving and growing. Their academic and spiritual growth have been incredible!

My daughter went to this school last year. Most of the staff and adminstration were very helpful and friendly. I have done my research with other private schools and ELCA needs improvement with supplementing some subjects that are the abeka curriculm. Extra activities are excellent. My child made straight A's at ELCA. However, when she went to the public schools the math and the science she was behind in. I would say do your homework and decide which is more important to you.

This is my 9th year at ELCA and every year it gets better. Academics are stressed and athletics are excellent. It is an AWESOME alternative to public school problems. Price is extremely competitive with other private schools of its caliber at 7K versus 10k and up at Landmark, Our Lady of Mercy and Woodward Academy. For the price and location it's tough to beat and the teachers and coaches really poor their lives into my kids.
