My son attended JP for 4 years and last year went so poorly that I pulled him out at the end of the year. This school has some very good teachers and a few that should not be teaching and a Principal that didn't seem to care very much about my concerns for my child even when he was bullied.

My daughter has had a lot of bullying problems at this school. She has been punched in the face, called names, and been made fun of. She has homework every weekend and during Spring Break. I don't mind homework, but kids should get a little break every once in awhile. I appreciated the ease at which it was for my husband and I to get access to her Infinite Campus, and her teacher does a good job of staying in touch with us, but overall, I can't wait to get her out of this school.

My son had a terrible time at this school. He had lots of problems here and was always sent to the office. His problem was that he was bored. His teacher had no idea how to keep kids busy that finish their work before the other students. His teacher would give him one worksheet with a letter to color and then write the letter over and over. These take him all of 5 mins. Then he had to sit still for 30 more mins. We pulled him out of the school and he has been apart of a more advanced home school program and is doing much better.

I can not believe anyone would give this school one star let alone three. This is the reason I moved to NY for real education for my child. They did nothing or him and he is an educationally gifted child that almost went to way side. It was a horrible time for him.

I am not going to say that I love this school, but I definitely have enjoyed the time my child has spent going here. However my daugther just loves this school and its teachers. Coming from a different school district, where most of what she's learned was what my husband and I taught her, I was and still am impress with what my child has learned via the teachers and volunteering parents. This place request that all who attends: students, parents, teachers and staff be totally 100 % involved. Love that!

I cannot say this is the best school that my children have attended. My son's kindergarten teacher was not co-operative in helping me to get him tested for a learning disability, and when I approached the administration they supported the teacher. Once we changed schools, he did a lot better. She also belittled most of the children in the class. The administration was not very supportive when it came to working with the parents in resolving issues either. I am not impressed with this school and if given the choice will not send my children back. If the admin staff supports teachers like this, then I chose to find another school.

Wonderful school, the teachers are really involved in what is best for the students and getting them motivated to learn. During my time at Jefferson Parkway I was a student teacher and here I learned more about what qualities a great teacher should have and how they should teach. I hope to one day teach at this wonderful school again.
