Great school! Wonderful teachers & staff with great parent involvement. My daughter loves it here. The students are introduced to technology, arts, character education and other outstanding opportunities. When I drop her off each morning, I feel assured that she will be looked after, taken care of by everyone and educated with patience, love and to the utmost of her abilities.
Outstanding school with incredible teacher involvement, learning opportunities and family focused education. Amazing in every way!
MPI is a gem of a school! The academic program is top notch, college prep. The school affords students the opportunity be involved in technology, arts, sports and other outstanding programs. It is the right size so one does not get lost in the shuffle. Hats off to Joe Rice, his administration and faculty for excellent leadership of this fine school!
as a former student at mid pac, i would have to say that midpac was one of the best schools i have ever attended. i only went there for 2 years, but freshman, and sophomore years were truly memorable. the only reason i couldnt attend mid pac for the rest of my high school years was becasue we moved. some people when they think top schools in hawaii, they think punahoa, iolani, or kamehameha. MidPac is one of those schools, it is ranked right up there with the other schools. The teachers get to know the students, the homework load is very reasonable. whoever said that the teachers werent helpful? they need to take another look, because all of my teachers were amazing. if you need help in your classes, midpac offers a 8th period, were you can go and ask for help from your teachers. truly a great school.
This school is a gem and I agree with the statement that it is one of the BEST schools in the state. Students are allowed to blossom at Mid-Pac and Mid-Pac gives them the opportunity and tools to do so. Its student/teacher ratio is perfect. Thanks to the administration and teachers of Mid-Pac!
Our child justed started in 7th grade. I have to say most of the faculty is very responsive. While Edline is available for parents to check progress, I think teachers should make a personal effort to reach out to the parents if the child is not performing well.
My son has been active in the arts programs, which are terrific, and has grown academically as well as emotionally. Most of his teachers have been excellent. It's sometimes tough to get the administration to listen, but on the whole they try to do a good job. Surely Mid-Pac is one of the best schools in the state.
This was my first year at MPI an I loved it. The 6th grade program made me feel very welcomed and they helped me make many friends. The class sizes are very small so I got the individual attention I needed. The teachers make learning enjoyable. Mid-Pacific will guarantee a wonderful education and preparation for college.
Hi, I am a student attending MPI and I am responding to the comment about how our staff is not preparing us. I am in MPSA which is the arts program at MPI and we have phenomenal teachers. The arts teachers are the best in the state, for band we have both a highly regarded teachers that specialize in different types of Instruments. Our dance staff is amazing, although I don't take dance. All the kids I talk to love what they do and I believe thats it's spark by how much the teacher loves what he or she is teaching. So as I write this comment I find myself dissagreeing more and more about the comment im replying to. I'm not sure what you have experinced while your child had been a student at MPI but let me assure you that you might need to take another look.
Hands down the top school in the state. I can't say enough about the teachers, facilities, and curiculum. Amazing!
The art s program has been praised immensely at Mid Pacific. Too bad the staff is horrible, the teachers don t know what they re doing, and the students will be pushed around in the real world because they are uninformed, extremely sheltered, and photocopies of each other.
We moved here from the Mainland - looked at all HNL schools and were amazed and the breadth and depth of the Mid-Pacific education. The tech. facilities are ranked #7 in America - and the School of the Arts allows my children to either take a certificate program; take classes in; or do after school club work within the Arts. The campus is 40 acres of beauty, and the faculty have degrees from Harvard, Oxford, Stanford, Berkeley, Duke etc... From the moment we spoke with the Admissions Dean, we knew this was no ordinary school. My children (all 3) participate in sports, art and college-prep academics. For us there is no other school in Honolulu.
I am a former student of mid pac. I had the priveledge of matriculating here for seventh and eighth grade. I would have stayed longer, but my father is in the Marine Corps. I later went to a public school in Rhode Island for 9th grade, a DODDS school in Belgium for 10 and 11, and a public school in South Carolina for my Senior year. I have found the teachers to be helpful and courteous, and they maintain a very structured, very challening program. The mathematics, theatre, and technology programs are especially noteworthy. The president takes time to learn names, (there are over 1000 students) and the school provides an arena of beauty and friendliness one would expect in the Manoa Valley. The school also commends excellence; I was awarded a two thousand dollar scholarship. Mid Pac surpasses other schools because it has a vision and offers ample individual attention.
Comments from our children regarding their teachers and classes at Mid Pac have been positive. Excellent Acting classes, the Algebra teacher goes one on one with our daughter when she needs it. Lots of care and enthusiasm shows with the instructors at Mid Pac.
I have found that some of the teachers were not receptive to the students questions and did not offer them guidance or support to find the answers. I expected a private institution to challenge and encourage the students, but did not find MidPacific to be at that level.
