My family's school is Rolling Hill Public Charter. I love this school - the staff is amazing and will work with whatever you need. It is small and family oriented. My oldest daughter was in other public schools and I can honestly say she has learned more at Rolling Hills then all the other combined. My youngest has a learning disability and the school has exceeded my expectations. The rhymes, songs, and small environment was just what she needed to start school and be confident.

We are about to finish up our 3rd year with Rolling Hills and we have been extremely pleased with our decision to enroll our daughters with this charter school. Our oldest was accepted to two other charter schools in the valley but we ultimately went with Rolling Hills (even though it was the farthest one from our house and requires a commute twice a day) because we loved the harbor method and advanced curriculum that is taught there. There is only one class of each grade and the small school size has been great. You really get to know all the kids and their parents and it feels like a close community. We also liked the fact that it is a K-8 school so we wont have to enter another lottery for our daughters when they are ready for middle school. We love this school!

This is our first year at rolling hills or any school for that matter. The staff have been great in keeping is informed as to how our son has been doing in all aspects. Sharing ideas of ways to get him even more exposure to areas he was struggling in to get him up to speed. I think the staff is amazing and administration ! Cant wait for another year!

We LOVE Rolling Hills! The atmosphere at this school is unbeatable! They teach kids responsibility, compassion and citizenship. This might not be something that can measured on a test, but we feel it's more valuable then anything else our kids could learn. My son is excelling academically, and loves learning. We couldn't be happier with the teachers or administration. Basically there is not enough room to describe how much we love Rolling Hills!

I could not ask for a better school for my children. Friendly environment fuels a higher degree of learning!!! When my children notice a difference not only in the level of education but with the overall friendly and safe surroundings, you know something is being accomplished effectively. I could not be happier with the school and the education provided.

Love, love, love this school! My son started this last year. Everyone is wonderful. My son loves it. The teachers are amazing. The principal is present, and knows everyone's names. Parents are a huge part of this school, making it feel like an extended family.

Our family loves Rolling Hills Charter School. It has challenging academics, wonderful teachers that go out of their way for all of their students & great administrators too. I am so impressed with the character & integrity that is taught & exemplified at this school. Their middle school program is the best and prepares their students to be responsible high school students. I highly recommend this school.

I have been attending Rolling Hills Charter for 5 years now and I have had nothing but great experiences with the school. The teachers are amazing and their goals are to help each student reach their own goals. Even though there are lots of other kids you always feel like they are there for you personally. I have seen people complain about the lottery being rigged but there are other things than just being in district that they have to consider. They do not base it off who they think will help them most. Besides all this, I think the thing I love most about this school is the Harbor Method. This means that this school is a safe harbor for any child who wants to attend. There is absolutely no bullying tolerated and if there is it is handled appropriately. In most bullying cases the one being bullied is scared to report the bully but the teachers and administration are not the only ones preventing bullying. The other students attending this school want to make sure there isn't any bullying as well because it is their school as well. The students are always making sure that they stand up for anyone who is bullied and with the small classes everyone is friends with everyone else.

We've been part of the Rolling Hills community officially for 3 years and my kids are always happy when I pick them up from school. Their teachers have high academic expectations and they support them in reaching their goals. The curriculum is noticeably more advanced than the previous elementary schools we attended. We love our new administrator. The atmosphere in the school is positive and energetic. I have many opportunities to be involved in the school and feel that I can directly impact my children's academic experience.

We are in our second year at Rolling Hills, and we've been very pleased. The curriculum is advanced (i.e., math taught at one year ahead) and offers Spanish instruction and a small-school environment. Our four teachers to date have been excellent. Remember this is a charter school, but it is also a public school which means all students, enrollment space permitting, are accepted for admission. This means we have a diverse range of student abilities and needs, evident when you look at aggregate test scores. Both of my upper elementary grade children scored in the advanced and proficient levels on their ISATs. The teachers differentiate their instruction well. The principal is loved by the students and works tirelessly in a demanding environment.

My son has been attending RHPCS for three years now and we love this school! The teachers really care about the students and are constantly striving to get them to the next level and work with the parents to help our kids achieve success. The administration has turned this school around in an incredible way and made it a positive environment for the students and parents. The faculty and administration adhere to the Habor Method and it has been a positive experience for our family. My son is in 2nd grade and is excelling in math and reading and is and has been light years ahead of the public school curriculum. My son loves his science, computer, music and PE classes and of course his teachers. If you like a small school atmosphere as well as caring teachers and administrators come check out RHPCS.

Very shady school with dishonest administrators. Their lottery does not meet state criteria (no state reps. conducted the lorrtey and it was not witnessed by the public as in reputable charter schools) We were told during an open house that we had a seat, then after the 'lottery' was done were told we were last one the waiting list; however, an out-of-district family who coincidentally runs a day care and is in the posiiton to refer students to Rolling Hills, was accepted) Their rating and test scores are lower than the local public schools, the class sizes are just as large as the public school, they don' have a playground and their history is very checkered. They have a reputation of being less than or no better than a public school, does not care about the 'Harbour Method' they attest to and is just an overall bad school. The actual school grounds are small, but the class sizes are so large that you feel like you're in a crowded public school.

My son is a 3rd grader and has been at Rolling Hills for 3 yrs. We LOVE this school. My priorities in selecting a school are first the quality of education received. Rolling Hills curriculum is extremely challenging (test scores don't lie) and fun at the same time. My next priority is the ethical and moral standards the school demands with regard to how students conduct themselves and how they treat others while in and out of school. I have been so pleased with this aspect as well. Strict dress code and strict code of conduct is enforced which creates such a positive, educational, kind environment at the school. The Harbor Method is such a positive and effective way to educate children. Because of these standards, the teachers have the time and energy to incorporate so much fun for the kids. My son has the greatest attitude about learning and in my opinion with the right attitude, all things are possible! I highly recommend Rolling Hills Public Charter School to all parents.

I have older children that attend Rolling Hills and this school is small and safe with an accelerated curriculum that includes drama, music, spanish, computer, community service in addition to core subjects. Many extracurricular activities are available also for a small school. My children can compete in MS sports like Basketball, Volleyball or Track. They can participate in Writer's Cafe with one of our outstanding MS teachers weekly. They are encouraged to be kind, courteous, and responsible. This school does more than just prepare my children academically for high school, but helps them develop confidence in themselves to be sucessful. This is a great school!

Rolling Hills is a truly wonderful school! Call to schedule a tour and see the great things happening here. My family is personally blessed to have our two children attend in this safe, acedimically challenging school and be educated by great teachers under the friendly and watchful eye of our principal, Dr. Montgomery. It is my pleasure to be able to work in the school every day as well.

I love teaching at Rolling Hills Public Charter School! The students are great and the staff is terrific. We are a small school dedicated to our students and each of their individual needs. I am able to know each student's strengths and weaknesses and appreciate all. Going to work every morning is a delight, because I know students will respect me, their classmates and all adults in our building. We have a high standard for academics as well as a high standard for character. Rolling Hills is the place for you if you want your child succeeding academically and socially.

We came from a home school background and were looking for the quality of education as well as a safe, warm environment. I continue to be impressed with the dedication and quality of the staff I have come in contact with. I appreciate whenever I come into the school I receive a warm friendly greeting. I really value the daily hours and yearly schedule. I get more time with my child and he has enough time to complete homework, responsibilities and still have time to play (breath). We love this school!

We love Rolling Hills Charter School!!! Our oldest daughter was in private school last year and she was doing fabulous in the small learning environment. We knew we wanted to transition her to public school, so we did our research on local schools. Despite getting into two other charter schools for the 2010-2011 school year, we chose Rolling Hills for our daughter. We knew the 20 minute drive would be worth it. The smaller school creates a safe learning environment, which allows the students to thrive. The curriculum is challenging and accelerated. The Concept Boards and Shurley Method are important teaching tools. The teachers are compassionate and dedicated to their students and to the the Harbor Method. We love that the school offers Spanish, PE, computers and music. The principal asks for parents feedback, wants parents involved, and truly cares for the kids. The new school secretary is wonderful. She makes you feel welcomed and communicates with parents via weekly email updates. We are thankful to be part of the Rolling Hills Community.

My two children have learned so much since coming to Rolling Hills. I love this school. My child was being bullied at his previous school, so we switched to Rolling Hills. He is not getting bullied at all. In fact, Rolling Hills is an environment where my children feel very safe, and look forward to going! Rolling Hills is very similar to private education, without the heafty price tag!

Our four children have attended Rolling Hills for the past five years. Our daughter was struggling with dyslexia that wasn't being addressed in public schools. She was able to overcome her dyslexia just in the natural course of the Harbor Method. The direct instruction really helped her as well as our other children. The principal really listens to parents and adapts. I like the after school activities that all the kids can participate in. The children feel safe.

This is our 2nd year at Rolling Hills. We have 3 kids enrolled. The staff is very friendly and compassionate, I have a child with a learning disability and of the 4 schools we have been in RHPCS has offered the most support in the most respectful manner. I feel confident that my children are receiving a superior education in a safe environment. As a parent I feel as though my participation and involvement in my kids education is not only encouraged but welcomed. We love this school!

I homeschooled my 4 kids for the past 4 years but after researching charters in the area determined that RHPC might be a good fit for my kids, I was more then right! My kids are flourishing in ways that I hadn't anticipated. The curriculum is topnotch and the teachers are first rate. My biggest fear was sending my oldest daughter to "middle school" and all that goes along with that. Rolling HIlls by far exceeds everything I could've hoped for for her. I am so glad I did my research and came upon this gem of a school.

My son has been going to RHPCS for 3 years now, I absolutely love the school and so does he. The school offers spanish to the students, which I think is fantastic, and the harbor method has been great. The small school atmosphere offers a 'family' community, the students know each other and the teachers very well. Would recommend it to everyone!

Excellent education and environment for my kids. We love the small school design and my kids do well with the Harbor method of teaching. This school offers a well balanced program, encouraging academic, extracurricular and community success. Both my kids have scored high in state testing and have had the opportunity to participate in team sports as well as volunteering their time helping our neighborhood. We are thankful to have Rolling Hills as our school of choice.

Rolling Hills is a wonderful, small and safe school! The school employs the Harbor Method of teaching which ensures that the children feel safe and supported so they can learn at extremely high levels. I attended a school meeting where a representative of the Idaho Department of Education said that Rolling Hills was one of Idaho s top performing schools. Although our school, and many others, had its share of difficulties (last year in particular), we have a new administrator with tons of experience and a clear vision for Rolling Hills future. Our teachers are all outstanding and care about their students. The students are talented and polite. The overall atmosphere this year is so positive and electric. Our children love the school and so do we!

It is the best school because there is never any bullying and we wear uniforms so I am never looking around the room disrated or worrying about the latest fashion. The teachers are also wonderful helping you whenever you have a problem they are always kind and patine to.

We have had our children at Rolling Hills since it opened--the first 3 years were incredible under the direction of Dr. Carolyn Mauer and an exceptional, caring staff of amazing teachers. This past year has been nothing but turmoil, with most all of the teachers leaving because of a poor administrator who does not train or involve the staff (one faculty meeting all year!?) among other things. Unfortunately, because of poor administration, this school is having some serious trouble. There is a great group of dedicated and caring parents who are willing to work hard to restore the school's good name and great academic practices, but a lot of damage has been done this year. If you attend any of the board/town hall meetings, you can easily figure out what is going on--although some would like to call it 'growing pains' and make it seem nebulous and complex.

Most unfriendly school I have ever stepped into in my life. Definite division between teachers and administrator and I believe the teachers have the upper hand in this one. Many classes are not teaching true 'Harbor' method because teachers were not trained. The ones that are trained in Harbor are leaving. Lack of confidence in the principal,

School board needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Charter schools are supposed to react to parental concerns, not quash them. Teachers should be inspired not intimidated. SB can only deny problems so long. Once the kids and teachers are gone, school is toast.
